Hello everyone! It's time for the Crative Challenge issued to the MFT Design Team, and for this months it was to use their cork sheets in our creations. Make sure to check out MFT's blog post HERE for all the links to the other DT member's blog posts as there's a lot of great projects to check out!
I decided to make a couple of cards - and with the first one I played along with the latest Wednesday Sketch Challenge too:
I die cut some Brick Red card stock using the Square Grid Cover-Up Die-namics, and sponged it with the same ink color. I adhered it over a piece of cork that I cut down to fit under the frame - and it looks like a corkboard IMO!
The die cut sentiment is from the Words of Gratitude Die-namics and I used Hot Fudge card stock for that. The leaves were actually sitting on my desk from a previous project (it's linked in a post 2 down from this onw) that I created with Distress Inks and watercolor card stock, and die cut with the Falling Leaves Die-namics. I wanted to make them look like they were "pinned" to the bulletin board so I adhered them then added some enamel dots as "pins".
I finished off the inside with a stamped sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set and my remaining die cut leaves.
For my second card I went with a Halloween theme and die cut the cork with the tree die from the Spooky Scene Die-namics. I wasn't sure if the die would cut the cork well with the intricate branches but it came out perfect!
To create the big orange moon I die cut a piece of Lemon Drop card stock with a Circle STAX die then sponged it with Lemon Drop, Orange Fizz and Tangy Orange dye inks.
I used the Spider Web Cover-Up Die-namics and my embossing mat on the Black Licorice card stock to create the texture, and the sentiment is from the Pure Innocence Batty About You stamp set.
Finally I finished off the inside of this card with another sentiment from the Batty About You stamp set and some more die cuts from the Spooky Scene Die-namics and that was it!
