Peekaboo: Halloween Series Video#11
Hey everyone! I'm popping on here real quick to share this Halloween card I made. After making the other one using this same Bootastic set from Mama Elephant I made this one right after. I think it's just the cutest set and had to make more than one card with it!
This time I had the images peeking out from behind this MFT Peek-a-boo Squared Die-namics die cut. And I was able to incorporate some of the new Doodlebug Halloween mini paperclips I just picked up *pats self on back*. LOL!
And the inside:
That fun web die cut is from the Paper Smooches Halloween Icons Wise Dies set that I'd picked up a while ago and have been itching to use - SO cute.

Mini Mummy Cards: Halloween Video Series #10
Yup, still a little obsessed with making mini cards with matching envelopes:
This time I used the new CCD Mummy Monkey Image. Isn't he cute?
I made these into little 3.5" square cards.
I finished off the insides by stamping Mummy Monkey in grey ink and a sentiment from my old Autumn Sentiments stamp set - I thought it was rather fitting for this image LOL!

MFT August Creative Challenge: Watercolor + Halloween Series Video #9
Hello everyone! It's Creative Challenge tim for the MFT Design Team - and this month's challenge was watercolor - like I needed an excuse to sit down and play with watercoloring! *wink*

My first card has a video to show how I created the background:
I used MFT's new Centerpieces Spooky Window-Die-namics to create this fun shaker card with a watercolor background.
I used Orange Fizz, Grape Jelly and Sour Apple Dye inks to create the watercolor background - I show how in the video.
I finished off the inside using the web from the Trick or Treat stamp set with the same ink colors, and a sentiment from the Spooky Sentiments stamp set.

Now for card #2:
I had actually filmed a video for this one as well to be included with the first one - but when I went to edit it I noticed ALL the footage was out of focus. Boo to that :P.
What I did differently with this watercolor background was press 3 different dye ink pads (Grape Jelly, Steel Grey and Blu Raspbery) onto a large acrylic block, sprayed the block with water a few times then pressed it onto a piece of watercolor paper. When you "moosh" the block onto the watercolor paper the inks start to blend into each other and soak into the paper.
To create the black "frame" for the window I just die cut the Centerpieces Spooky Window from Black Licorice card stock, trimmed down the edges and snipped the web from the inside with scissors. SUPER easy.
The die cut "boo" is from the Trick or Treat Die-namics set.
I finished the inside with a bunch of stamped webs in Grout Grey ink, adding a few black die cut spiders. The sentiment was inked up with the same colors used on the front - I just tapped the ink pads onto the sentiment starting with the lightest color, then pressed it onto the cardstock and it was done!

Bootastic: Halloween Series Video #8

I finally got a chance to play with my Mama Elephant Bootastic stamp set - and this is the first card I made with it (there will be a second one coming!):
Are these little characters not ADORABLE?? Love them!
I also used some of my new Doodlebug Halloween goodies that I got in my latest haul - they were perfect with this stamp set.
I used MFT's Peek-a-Boo Trio Die-namics die for the characters, and the Spiderweb Cover-Up Die for the textured background - I show how in the video.
Ignore the goofed-up bow under the sentiment - my hand and brain weren't connecting when I did that apparently :P Oh well!

Hey everyone - I was hoping to post an update video on all sorts of things but the whole family has come down sick (started with one kid then spread to all of us) so I'm in no mood to sit in front of a camera. When I'm feeling better I'll get at it!

Bellarific Friday Aug 22nd, 2014 & Making a Card #95 Video
Hey everyone! The challenge for Bellarific Friday this week was this inspiration picture:
And here's what I ended up with:
I went more with the colors, and the yellow flower on the cake popped out at me and when flipping through my stamps the flower waistband on this uptown girl OPAL the OPTIMIST stamp seemed perfect!
I added some Wink of Stella to different parts of the image - you can see it WAAAYYY better in the video!

Halloween Lunch Notes: Halloween Series #7 Video
Hey everyone! It's super late here (or super early) - I finally got this video uploaded and thought I may as well get the post up before heading to bed. I've got 2 sick kiddo's here to take care of so my crafting time is somewhat non-existent at the moment!
These were pretty quick and easy little cards to whip up. I got this cute Fang-tastic Halloween set from Prairie Paper Haven not too long ago along with some Halloween patterned paper and had to make something with them! I couldn't decide on which image to use so I used them all LOL.
FYI - Prairie Paper Haven is located in Saskatchewan AND they carry a bunch of my AmyR Stamp Sets! I've had a lot of you ask where in Canada can they be purchased so here is one option!
Anywho back to these mini-cards. They're all 3x3" size - I thought they'd make great little lunch box notes for my kids when we get closer to Halloween.
To create the texture on the bat I used my Copic Colorless Blender Refill Solution and an old washcloth - I show how easy it is in the video. (Note that I used WAY too much blender solution - LOL it's been a while since I've done this technique and I forgot how little you actually need to use!)
All these images are popped up on Action Wobbles - SUPER fun. You need to watch the video to see them in action. Even my hubby got a kick out of these when I showed him.
I don't have pics of the insides or of the envelopes I made for all the cards - those are in the video. I'm excited to tuck some treats in with the cards and pop them into my kids lunches in October!

Onesie Card Set: Top Dog Dies Guest Designer
Hey everyone! I'm a Guest Designer over on the Top Dog Dies blog today - head on over there to check out how I made this card! And scroll down to see the other two I made for this set of onesie cards using their dies!
If you've never heard of Top Dog Dies before here's a quick blurb about them:
Top Dog Dies is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including Little B, Lawn Fawn, Taylored Expressions, Savvy Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs. Top Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by British designer Stephanie Weightman.
I made a trio of onesie cards using the Top Dog Dies Onesie Card and Finishers Die Set. The large steel rule die in the set creates this A2-sized onesie card - how cute is that? I made the pink one for the Top Dog Dies blog post, then had to make a blue one and a "gender neutral" grey and white one to complete the set.
I used embossing paste over a stencil on the first card, then on the other two I sponged the ink over the stencil to create "patterned" onesies. On the insides of the cards I sponged the matching pattern with lighter ink to enable them to be written in and legible.
I used my Blue Wink of Stella on the darker blue die cuts for the boy card - LOVE the shimmer it gives. On the grey card I didn't use any shimmer at all and kept it simple.
These were so fun and easy to make. I love shaped cards but I balk at printing off and tracing templates or fiddling around to create my own shapes. Having a die that I can simply run through a machine is my sort of thing - if that makes me lazy so be it LOL! I can get WAY more cards made in less time that way so it's a win win in my books.

Lunch Box Notes Shaker Cards: Making a Card #94 Video
How FUN are these? When I got the Lunch Box Notes set and Dies from SSS my first thought was shaker cards - and with 2 kids heading back to school soon I thought I may as well make a few to have on hand. Later on I'll have to make more little "lunch box notes" using the other stamps in the set.
I'm pretty impressed with the fact that the Distress inks I chose to go with the Doodlebug card stock matched SO close. I mention in the video that I don't have any of Doodlebug's ink pads (why I don't know) and after going through the ink pads I own these Distress colors were the closest match - not bad eh?
I used Picked Raspberry (FAVE), Salty Ocean, Dusty Concord, Barn Door, Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn.
Of course by the time I got the chance to edit and upload the video the set of these dies is sold out as is the set and dies combo :P - I'm sure they'll be back in stock soon. I included the link to the full SSS release as it's still in stock. I really like the other dies/stamps/stencils in this release too - SO cute.

Bellarific Friday Aug 15th, 2014 & Making a Card #93 Video
Hey everyone! So last week's challenge for today's Bellarific Friday was this sketch - and here's the card I made:
I used my Uptown Girl PERRY on her laptop image, and paper-pieced the chair she was sitting on (how could I not? It was BEGGING for a fun pattern) and colored her in with Copics.

MFT August Release Rewind: Halloween Series Videos #4 & #5
I'm glad y'all enjoyed all the sneak peek posts for the MFT August countdown! I'm back with a few more projects for Day 1 of the Release Rewind. Check out the MFT blog for the full list of links to the other DT members playing along today!
I've got 2 cards and 3 tags to share - ALL Halloween - and 2 videos while I'm at it:
I had 2 inlaid panels that I had created using the new Spiderweb Cover-Up Die-namics for the product video (check that out HERE), so of course I had to use them on a couple cards!
For this first one I embossed one of the sentiments from the Spooky Sentiments set onto a strip of vellum with orange and black embossing powder, then added some die cut spiders from the Centerpieces Spooky Window Die-namics die.
I finished off the inside of the card with more die cut spiders (I created their eyes with some White Opal Liquid Pearls and a black pen) and another stamped sentiment from the Spooky Sentiments set.
I used my second inlay panel for the second card, and embossed another sentiment from the Spooky Sentiments set onto a strip of vellum with the orange and black embossing powders.
I then adhered a bunch of Doodlebug Beetle Black Sequins all over the card and framed the Spiderweb Cover-Up with some silver glitter paper (Michaels).
I finished off the inside of this one with a strip of vellum I embossed another sentiment on and some more die cut spiders to hide the glue!

I then created 3 fun Halloween tags using MFT's Tag Builder Blueprints 1 Die-namics and the new Spooky Scene Die-namics. With some of their dye inks and sponging I created the variegated backgrounds and then adhered all the die cuts. So fun and quick and easy!
