Hey everyone! Only 3 days left to go 'till all of MFT's new July products are available! Make sure to check out MFT's blog post HERE for all the info you need to know for today!
I've got a card and photo tutorial for y'all instead of a video - after I made this card I thought it'd be easier to show how I made the flower and since time is at a premium I just took a bunch of pictures of the process! Anywho here's the card:
I used the new Square Grid Cover-Up Die-namics for my background (completely different look from how I used it yesterday!) with MFT Kraft card stock, and sponged all the squares with Natural ink just to give them some definition.
The tag is from the new Free with $60 set called Tag Talk Die-namics and there will be more info on that in MFT's blog post tomorrow.
I made this fun little flower with the new Pinking Edge Circle STAX Die-namics and the pink tissue paper that comes wrapped around the goodies you order from MFT lol! The tutorial on how I made it will follow after the next picture.
I finished off the inside of the card with another die cut Leaf Filled Flourish (that's not new it's been around for a while and I love it!) from Sour Apple card stock which I'd also used on the front and that was it!
Now here's how I made the flower:
I just ran the tissue paper thought my die cut machine with the third smallest Pinking Edge Circle STAX Die-namics - cutting all the layers at one time. Doing them all at once compresses the edges and they kind of stick together but that makes the next steps easier.
I took my scissors and snipped between every 2 or 3 "points" cutting towards the center. No ryme or reason just cutting 'till I'd gone all the way around.
I then peeled all the layers apart - again not neing too careful about it - some might tear but that's fine you won't be able to tell. And some of the layers might have been creased/wrinkled/whatever and that's fine too - no need to be careful!
You can see I cut through 8 layers no problem with the die.
I re-layered all my tissue flowers on top of each other again then I threaded my large needle with MFT's hemp cord and sewed a MFT Kraft button into the center of the flower.
Then all you have to do is ruffle up and crinkle all the layers of tissue and you've got a cute little flower to embellish your card!
I attached mine with a red line adhesive dot from Jody's Sticky Stuff Store - worked like a charm :).
