I whipped up a couple of birthday cards last week for my nieces (twins) who are turning 15 this month. I kept everything pretty simple but went BRIGHT with the color:
(I had initially meant to make two completely different cards as I know most twins can get pretty tired of getting the same things - but time was running away from me as usual :P)
I used some of my new Doodlebug vellum and sequins along with their Doodletwine and card stock - so fun.
I stamped their names with Brilliance Graphite Black ink and the Paper Smooches Graffiti stamp set, once the ink was dry I went over them with Copics (YG05 and BG45).
I stamped the numbers on the die cuts with pigment ink then embossed them with white embossing powder. Since Doodlebug card stock is textured I didn't get a smooth finish with the embossing powder. I was OK with that (if you aren't you can fill in the missed spots with a Versamarker and emboss it again with the embossing powder to smooth it out).
Finally I finished off the insides by embossing the Happy Birthday sentiment from PS Birthday Sampler stamp set and that was it!
