I hope y'all are having a good weekend so far! I've got another card to share with you featuring some soon-to-be-available goodies from MFT's March release!
If you didn't come here from the MFT blog be sure to head over there to check out all the products being released and for links to the other DT member's blog posts today.
I used the latest MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge for the base of this card:
I used the new Sunny Day Doodles Spring Has Sprung stamp set (say that 3x fast LOL). For the straight panel on the sketch I used the Tall Grassy Edge Die-namics and added some May Arts ribbon from my stash.
This new set comes with companion stamps that you can use to stamp a colored "base" on the images and sentiments - it's really neat! I used that here with Sno Cone ink after stamping the sentiment with Black Licorice ink. I could have just left it at that as it looks "finished" but wanted to add a little bit more. So I used some Copics to add a bit more color.
**NOTE that MFT inks aren't compatible with Copics (they don't necessarily smear like other inks do - they just seem to almost fade deeper into the card stock - it's hard to explain) - so knowing that I just took care to not go too close or over the black lines and didn't do any real blending. It works! The copics I used were BG53, BG45, RV55, RV17, YG07
On the inside of the card I used the Wood Plank Background stamp with Sno Cone ink on the same card stock (same as on the front) that I'd die cut with the largest die from the Blueprints 13 Die-namics set. Over that I stamped the verse from the Spring Has Sprung set with Black Licorice ink.
The flower is from the same set and I stamped the little base or shadow stamps with Sour Apple and Sno Cone inks then used the same Copics as I did on the front of the card.
**some links will not work until the products are released in the MFT Store on March 11, 2014 at 10pm EST**
