Hey everyone! I'm back with a couple of cards and a video for y'all. This month's Creative Challenge for the MFT Design Team was to "Create custom sentiments or add personalization to your card, home-decor, 3-D gift or scrapbook page using any of our alphabet dies or stamps."
There are SO many ways to go with this challenge - so make sure to check out the MFT blog post here with the links to all the other DT members blog posts.
For my projects I decided to make a couple of Valentine's cards (I'm still in the Valentine mood) for my older girls and personalize them with their names.
I mention in my video that my girls NEVER see any items with their names on it when we're in stores that sell them (keychains etc etc etc) - even though their names aren't that uncommon. So now that they're older I'm having fun making them cards and whatnot and personalizing them with their names. It's a fun little "something extra".
I made my first card for my oldest daughter. I haven't had a chance to ink up the new Pure Innocence sets that were released in January so I pulled them out for my cards.
I also played along with MFT's new Color Palette Challenge <----click! - which for it's first one is the classic MFT color combo of black, pink and white. I thought that was a perfect combo for Valentine cards so I used it for both cards.
I used my Wink of Stella clear pen to add some shimmer to the letters.
And now the inside:
To see how I made this card you can watch the video below:

Now for the second card. I didn't film this one as my battery died while filming the first one and I *thought* my second battery was charged - but I had forgotten to plug in the charger :P. So this one got made while the batteries charged.
For this card not only did I use the Color Palette Challenge but I also went along with the latest Wednesday Sketch Challenge on the MFT blog - Get Sketchy #159 <----click! There are only a few hours left to enter this challenge - but don't worry as there's a new one posted every week.
So for this card I used the new Pure Innocence Guess Who Loves You? set - this little character reminds me SO much of Josie - in fact I've got pics of her from a few years ago wearing an adorable pair of (play) glasses and looking a lot like this LOL!
I colored the PI image in with my Copics, then added the highlights to the glasses and hearts to her shirt with my POSCA white paint pen.
The black die cut piece was stamped with the Typewriter Text background and Sweet Tooth pigment ink, then I used just the little heart image from another PI set to stamp little hearts along the top of the card.
And here's the inside:
