Happy Saturday everyone! If you missed my earlier post make sure to scroll down (or click here) to check it out :).
I'm huddled down at home with the kids today - we woke up to -50 (-58F) temps this morning :P. And no, nothing comes to a standstill at these temps - while extreme we still go about our daily business loL! Although some people's vehicles have a tendency to not start when it gets this cold out....
Anywho - I've got a couple of Christmas cards to share using some High Hopes stamps - these one's don't have videos - sorry! It was nice to just sit down and stamp without a camera in my way ;):
For this first card I used the Christmas Cats Block stamp, and stamped it onto kraft card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Copics. I like how forgiving coloring on Kraft card stock can be LOL!
I added some highlights/white spots with the POSCA white paint pen (link is with the supplies) - LOVE how it really pops on the Kraft!
And of course I used my MFT Pierced Square STAX die-namics to die cut the image after coloring it - it just have it that extra something.
The sentiment is also from High Hopes - their Holiday All Year stamp.
Then the inside of the card:
I kept it simple and just stamped the Christmas Cats Black again onto the Kraft card stock - this time using Kraft ink so that it can be written over esily. I die cut it with the largest of the Pierced Square Stax dies, added some patterned paper and that was it!
Now for card #2:
For this card I used the Snow Couple Black, and instead of coloring it in with Copics I grabbed my Koh-i-Noor color pencils (regular pencil cayons work too - whatever you have on hand).
I didn't do any fancy blending - no odorless mineral spirits etc etc - just straight coloring with pencils. After I'd colored in the image I went bak and darkened up some areas and added a bit of patterned/texture here and there - really quick and simple - anda great way to add a little extra "something" to your colored images.
And I couldn't leave well enough alone so I added a bit of Stickles to glitter it up a bit and used my glaze pen to add some shine to the holly and the Mrs buttons :).
On the inside of the card I used the Snow Couple Black again - this time stamping it with Sno Cone ink, then added a sentiment from HH - their Snow People Saying stamp.
So that's it for now! Keep checking in as I've got at least one new post a day going up here lately!
