Hello everyone!
Today's post is a two-for-one, well actually a three-for-one as I've got 2 things to share and a video too!
The Design Team Creative Challenge this month for MFT was to use their Peek-a-Boo Die-namics in fun and creative ways. For me right now my brain is mush so I don't think my little projects are anything mind-blowing or out-of-the-box - but they were fun! That counts right?
And what I DO find challenging is to *not* use any patterned paper (which I know some people have the completely opposite issue and find patterned paper more difficult to work with) - and to make cards/projects without it takes a little more (OK a LOT) effort from me. So I added that to the mix as well LOL!
Anywho here is what I made - and of course I HAD to do a Halloween theme:
My only frustration with this project was that the ideas *really* started to roll but I didn't have the time to make anything else or the supplies to really take these fab little treat boxes to the next level (but there's always next year...)
I started with this little treat box-y bag that I made with the new Paper Bag Treat Box Die-namics and Paper Bag Peek-a-boos Die-namics.
Y'all may have noticed that I *rarely* make anything other than cards. Mostly b/c I just don't like fiddling with printed templates or lengthy instructions etc etc. I can't tell you how many templates I've purchased and downloaded over the years and I don't think I've used a simgle one....
But THIS - this I like. I ran the Paper Bag Treat Box Die-namics through my Big Shot two times with some Kraft card stock and there you go. With that out of the way I could decorate it to my heart's content.
Y'all might actually see me start to post things other than *just* cards in the future!!
I say it in the video but the options are SO limitless with these dies - so so so fun. I'm thinking vellum, or a clear acetate window....a cellophane bag filled with candy...make several in different colors for a table setting and put those little fake battery operated t-lights in them.....see what I mean?
I had to make a card to go with this little treat box:
I pulled out my older Spiderweb Die-namics for this as I feel it fits the challenge as it creats a sort of peek-a-boo effect as well. LOVE this die - I got it last year for my halloween series and couldn't wait to pull it out again this year!
Again I went with the Green, Kraft, Black, White color theme to match the little treat box (another fun way to mix it up and step *out* of the box for Halloween color schemes).
And the inside of the card. If you watch my video I share what occured to me at the very end AFTER I had already adhered everything (literally all my ideas were happening after the fact - kind of frustrating - but really I'm still dealing with brain mush after having a baby - so I'm just glad there are any creative ideas at all LOL!!).
Here's the video:
And make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see what all the other DT gals have come up with. I've seen a few peeks of their creations and they're all just fabulous!
