I tend to go for long periods of time not buying anything new (and it's usually over summer), now with the change of season and fall, Halloween and *ssshhhhhh* Christmas around the corner I get the itch to buy all sorts of new goodies ;)
.
Like I say in the video TCP had a sale so I ordered a few things I'd had my eye on for a while.
.
I'm looking forward to this weekend - I'm hoping to get some cards made up - and I'm hoping to set aside some time to start planning my Halloween series :) :) :) REALLY excited for that!!
I know I'm posting one video after another lately :) I've got a lot on my to-do list and need to get as many of these up before I dive into the Halloween Series ;) ;)
.
I've been ordering some new goodies for said Halloween Series - it's been fun getting parcels in the mail the past couple of weeks!
.
I got my Simon Says Stamp order last week and like I say in the beginning of the video I'm a little peeved that they didn't even bother to respond to my e-mail that I sent them well over a month ago now.
.
I've never asked companies for anything - I have accepted a freebie here and there over the years (and that's pretty rare for me - I don't get offers very often - and sometimes I've turned down something that's been offered because it's something I personally wouldn't use or wouldn't feel right encouraging other's to buy - and where's the point in that? However I digress...) but 99% of the time what I use on my cards is bought with my own $$. And there's nothing wrong with that - I just thought "Hey why not just contact a couple of places and see?" Worst they can do is say no and if they said yes well that would help me out a LOT. Buying up a bunch of goodies for video series like this can *really* empty my wallet - so I'd take anything.
.
Sadly though they never even replied to my e-mail - which irked a bit. But I ordered anyway ;) I had contacted another company at the same time and they didn't reply either :(. Ah well I had gone into it assuming I'd get shot down - not expectig for them not to reply at all. First world problems eh? lol
.
Happy note though I DID have one company contact ME with an offer so I picked up a couple of *really* cute stamp sets that I thought I could have fun with during my Halloween madness. I added those to the video so y'all could see them. They make some neat stamp sets!
Today's only Tuesday but I feel as if I've worked a full week already :( So very many things on my plate - least of all being my kids head back to school next week - can't believe summer is almost over!
But I still have summer-themed cards to share and it's supposed to get HOT out today - it's all good LOL.
If you missed any of my other summer cards you can find them all here:
You can get the AmyR Stamps here: http://www.allthatscraps.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=360_361_752

So like I say in the video I recently got back from a weekend trip to Calgary, Alberta where I was taking some nail courses for my "other" job ;) And while there I was able to do a little bit of shopping - hence the haul video :)

Hello everyone! It's Christine's (owner of All That Scraps) birthday and we all decided to have a blog hop to celebrate. So if you came here from Tracy's blog you're in the right place.
If you want to start at the beginning and/or see the list of all the "hoppers" go here:
I've known Christine for years now - ever since I purchased my first CuttleBug machine LOL! And if you're at all familiar with me and my blog you'll know that she manufactures my AmyR Stamps line. I really like working with Christine and have always apprecited her giving me a chance to design my own stamps!
I decided to accomplish two things at once by including this post/card into my Birthday Series. So if you want to check out the previous ones you can see my last post here (all the previous ones are linked in that post):
So I needed to make another baby card (I actually need to get my butt in gear and make up a bunch - it seems like everyone around me is having babies right now!) for a friend who just had a baby boy.
I dug through my stash and came across my BG Oliver papers and embellishments that I've held on to - PERFECT for cards like this. This collection came out a couple of years ago so it's not readily available anymore. I linked to what's left of it on the BG site below with the supplies.
I really enjoy making personalized cards when it's for a new baby - most of the time the parents end up keeping it. I even had one friend who framed the card I made and put it in the baby's room. That *really* meant a lot to me and was totally unexpected - but SO nice.
FYI if you missed my first card in this "series" you can find it here:
Honestly it's really simple and easy to use. I had to take a bit longer with explaining things as I have a different aircan than the one that is included with the kit (I explain that in the video).
I hope this helps those of you that were sitting on the fence with getting the airbrush for your Copic markers!
FYI I originally got my ABS-2 kit from allthatscraps.com. They don't have it listed on their site right now, but many online retailers (and probably any store that carries Copics) carry it. Here's another source:
So I'm getting back into the swing of things after not stamping for over a month. Most of the posts/cards/videos from the past month were done several weeks ago. I took a vacation with my family for a couple of weeks and then I've been working more than full time since (well I was before too but that's not anything new ;)).
So not only am I trying to get my stamping mojo back but also my filming/editing/voiceover mojo too LOL!
My first attempt is this birthday card - which I've added to the series so if you've missed any so far you can find them all here:
This one I whipped up in literally 10-15 minutes. I was running WAY late and needed a card to go with a gift. A friend of mine had just closed the deal on their very first home so of course I needed to help them celebrate!
I had a gift ready but at the last minute realized I didn't have a single card on hand that would "work" with this type of occasion - so I whipped this one up:
I pulled out my Paper Smooches Vogue Abode stamp set and proceeded to create a little living room scene.
I paper pieced the chair, lamp, and vase and stamped the "rug" with Memento Ladybug ink.
All the coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils. I didn't do any blending b/c I didn't have time!
The sentiments are from my Congrats Sentiments set - they were PERFECT for this card ;)
The card base was kept simple - a few strips of patterned paper on a white card base. I did the same thing on the inside (which I forgot to take a picture of - I *was* in a hurry).
Then I popped up my "scene" on dimensionals and that was it.
SO - this has been requested a LOT over the years. And I say it in the video but I have kept putting off showing how I store my stamps b/c I'm still trying to come up with the perfect system.
But I have yet to actually come up with the perfect system LOL!
So for now I'm just showing you guys how it all is NOW - mess and all (and I say it's a mess in the video but really it's not that bad - I should have filmed after I make a card or two - now that's usually a mess LOL!)
So yeah this is my imperfect stamp storage - and I totally forgot to show the random basket full of unmounted stamps and the Iris containers on the floor with piles of stamps in them too ;) Ah well.
Stamp Storage Binders (I got mine from allthatscraps.com - they're not listed there at the moment. They just finished a big move to a new state so they have to re-stock everything I assume. So if you're interested in those binders it wouldn't hurt to contact them to ask if/when they'll get them in stock).
