Mother's Day Card Series - Card #6 VIDEO

Hello everyone!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get this post and video up! We upgraded our internet last week to a "faster, better" service which meant a new modem and whatnot and it turned into a few issues for me with how I have things networked between my old computer and new one (I've been using both as I have different programs on each that I use for different things - my old one is a PC and the new one is a Mac). So I struggled with that for a couple of days and got NOWHERE.

I am NOT computer-literate - contrary to what everyone else seems to think! I always get friends and family asking *me* to fix their computer issues - and I honesly just fiddle around trying to figure things out - when I usually don't have a clue LOL!

I finally gave up for a few days b/c #1 it was giving me a headache and #2 with work and everything else I couldn't keep wasting TIME to try and fix everything.

So now I'm doing things a bit differently (which none of y'all will notice as it's all on my end - everything else will stay the same) and can get back to posting hopefully regularily!

Anywho that's why it's been so quiet on here and on my Facebook page. But now I'm back *grin*.

Today's card is yet another "out of the box" card for me - NO patterned paper and NO layering (well technically "no" layering - watch the video and you'll see why it ended up with ONE layer).

Grad Cards for Etsy

Hey everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend - around here the weather *finally* started to really warm up and it's starting to really feel like spring!

Over the weekend I made several graduation cards. I had a request for a couple and decided to make a few extra while I was at it to put in my Etsy shop:

I just did up a variety of them using the same papers for the guy cards (Basic Greys Wander collection) and the same papers for the girl cards (Basic Greys Indie Bloom collection).

I didn't bother filming or doing up a full post on them b/c all the stamps I used are no longer available. They are from Kim Hughes' Congrats Grad set and a sentiment from the Kim Hughes U R A Hoot set when they were owned by Cornish Heritage Farms.

Kim is slowly re-tweaking those old sets and re-releasing them under her Kismet Collection line <----click! through her Paper Smooches company. These stamps haven't been released under it so that's why I didn't want to post videos etc on them - as they are rather in-demand sets (or are when I post with them!).

SO - that's why I made some extra for my little Etsy shop.

For today's card I pulled out one of my Rubber Romance stamps - I've had them for YEARS and years and it's been a long time since I've inked them up. I really like this line tho as it's different from all the other types of images I have (which is mostly cutesy - nothing wrong with that but I do like variety).

Mother's Day Card Series - Card #2 VIDEO

And a note about today's card:

The rose stamp I used is from a retired Stampin' Up! set called Fifth Avenue Floral that I've had for years now. So it's no longer available to purchase (unless you're lucky enough to find it on a buy/sell/trade board or want to pay e-bay's ridiculously overpriced bids) - BUT there are all sorts of outline floral images out there that will work too.

**ETA - apparently I just haven't looked hard enough - I've been told the set *IS* still available from SU but that it will be retiring at the end of May (2012). I searched for it on the SU site but couldn't find it so I assumed it was retired! Sorry!**

I added a couple of different Hero Arts images that caught my eye that would work, and I know there's more from other companies out there that have something similar.

2012 Spring & Easter Card Series - Card #11

Ahhhh I had meant to have this uploaded *much* earlier today - but instead I had a nap LOL! I've had most of this week off (it's Easter break for my kids so no school all week - so I took time off to spend more time with them) and this morning I got up super early.

So by early afternoon I was beat and snuck in a nap rather than edit videos and type up posts. And it's prolly the last nap I'm gonna get for a really long time since I'm back to work after the weekend and have a bajillion things to do (as usual). So I thoroughly enjoyed the nap..... :D

Alcohol Marker Review VIDEOS

Hokay, it took me long enough but here are my thoughts on three different "non-Copic" alcohol markers - Spectrum Noir, ProMaker, and Marvy LePlume.

These are *MY* opinions on them, they may differ from your opinion (people can get testy about something they really like if they think someone else is dissing them LOL!). If you have a preference feel free to share it in the comments - I'm all for hearing everyone's opinion - especially if you own and have used a certain brand of marker and love it.

I've had Copics for oh about 5+ years now. So like I say in my videos I'm a "Copic snob" - I have zero intentions of ever switching to another brand - as I personally think that Copics are the highest quality and worth every penny I've invested in to them.

But it's good to have options - if we all thought alike and bought alike and made all the same things it would be pretty darn boring around here :)

And if I HAD to choose - of the 3 I would say ProMarkers (in my opinion) are the best option.

SO, over a month ago now I posted about coloing in a bunch of Anya images:

This was what I started off with. And of course I find out *now* that this image is no longer available (sorry!). I'm pretty sure it was a Wild Sprout image - THIS one is similar (and still available).

......searching......yup I was right it was a Wild Sprouts image - Megan she was called! And it was back in '09 that the stamp was released LOL. SO only 3 years for me to ink it up....(although I swear I've made a card before with it - but can't find it on my blog.....yeah I'm losing it....!).

ANYWHO I colored the image in to go with the Authentique Splendid 6x6 papers and paper-pieced her little shirt to match.

I added just a tiny bit of Baby Blue Stickles to her hair bow and shorts - it adds more of a "texture" IMO than actual sparkle - Baby Blue and Cotton Candy Stickles are the only ones (that I know of) that are like this - they're not actually *sparkly* YKWIM? But I like that sometimes...

So here's the finished card. I kept it all pretty simple. Just some patterned paper, ribbon and primas.

That ribbon is May Arts textures (if you guys all contact All That Scraps and BEG them to get it back in that might help *wink* I bought all mine from them and I *think* they can still get it in! I LOVE this ribbon!!).

Prima's and brads are as always from my stash (AKA lifetime supply - I seriously will prolly never use up all the primas I have, and I'm OK with that).

The sentiments are from my Big Words & Handy Additions stamp sets. Haven't used them in a while, and it made me happy to ink them up again! They're still some of my favorites for sentiments...

2012 Spring & Easter Card Series - Card #10

I hope y'all are having a good weekend so far! I already feel like I'm ahead just by having Friday off - I got a TON of laundry done, made a couple cards/filmed a couple videos, finished reading the second Stephanie Plum novel (by Janet Evanovich - haven't seen the movie yet but will prolly wait 'till it comes out to rent - I'm in no rush for it), watched the newest Chipmunks movie with my kids (ugh - but they *really* enjoy them so that makes it worth it LOL!), squeezed in a workout after the girls went to bed and am now getting this post up before heading to bed myself!

And I still have some days off to get more things done - so definitely feeling GOOD!

Sneak Peek of 2 *NEW* AmyR Stamps Sets...

It's been quiet here the last few days eh? Sorry folks I had a rather busy week with work. But now I'm done for the week and *really* looking forward to a few days off this Easter weekend!

Anywho - I had posted about the sneak peeks on my Facebook page, but thought I'd post here too (b/c not everyone is on Facebook - although it seems like it sometimes LOL).
