I've had this sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks now and kept meaning to try it out and let y'all know what I thought of it. So I finally did and here's the video:
I've made 4 cards using one each of the new SN February images - I posted the first on here the other day. And now I'll post card #2. This is another one that I didn't film a video for (I didn't film any of them - sorry!).
I *promise* that the videos will be coming back ASAP. I filmed a birthday card yesterday and did a couple of product review videos too so I'll have some editing to do to get them posted so stay tuned.
Back to the card:
I had fun with this card. I used the Fancy Pants Summer's End 6x6 pack as my inspiration for the colors and kept the layout pretty simple so that you can see the detail of the papers.
The little acorns were made with the new CC Designs Cutter Acorn Set dies. I die cut 2 different shades of brown cardstock and green cardstock for the leaves. I then used my Ranger White Gel Pen to add a bit of detail to them so they'd stand out a bit.
The primas and brads were from my stash.
The sentiment is from my Be Happy set. I stamped it onto one of the patterned papers before trimming it out.
I stamped Nutter onto CCD CQ 110lb White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored him in with Copics. I then trimmed him out and adhered him to the card with 3D Foam Dimensionals.
On the inside of the card I layered a few of the different patterned papers then stamped another sentiment from the Be Happy set onto one of the papers and that was it!
Excuse my horrible hair in this video. I didn't feel like making it "pretty" this morning since I'm just hanging out around the house - but it always looks way worse on camera for some reason LOL.
Anywho it was supposed to be a "quick" video but I blab on a bit about all sorts of things ;)
ETA- oy I am really scatterbrained this week. I meant to add a link to the Just Scrap It blog as there is info on there about the garage sale I'll be at on the 3rd:
So yeah for those of you that can make it it would be awesome to meet you! Just come up and say hi - I don't put myself out there and am a total introvert so it's really weird for me that people actually *want* to meet me LOL!!
It's so much easier to be "myself" behind a computer screen or in front of a camera (and if you've been watching my videos since the beginning you'll know how hard it was to even start doing the videos - it took a LONG time for me to get used to seeing my face and hearing my voice! Now I don't even have to think about it) so meeting people in "real life" is odd sometimes. I don't run in to other "stamping enthusiasts" very often - living in a small farming community means there just aren't that many people to begin with - and I can't even count the number of weird looks I've had from people when they hear that I "make cards" like - a LOT. *grin*
Sorry this post took so long to go up. My computer is acting wonky (again - it's getting to be time to get a new one I just keep putting it off) and I kept losing the post. This time it's gonna work!
So I mentioned in my last video that I wanted to do some card posts without videos to go along with them. Of course I'm not stopping the videos I just want to be able to stamp sometimes and create without a camera sitting in front of me. So here and there hopefully I can post some cards as-is between the videos :o)
Now onto the card:
I used some of the new stamps from the February CCDesigns release. This Sweet November Bloom character is SO cute.
The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Springtime 6x6 pack. I used my Martha Stewart Grass Edger punch(bought it at Michaels) with one of the green patterned papers to make the grass. The mushroom is from the SN Mushroom Set and I paper pieced the top of it with one of the patterned papers from the EP pack.
The sentiment is from my new Be Happy set. I punched it out with SU's Key Tag punch.
All the rhinestones were from my stash - I got them from AMuse years ago. The butterflies were punched from one of the papers with my Martha Stewart Butterfly Trio punch. The ribbon is May Arts.
I stamped both Bloom and the Mushroom onto CCD Copic Quality 110lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored them with Copics.
And then I added Diamond Stickles to Bloom's "hat".
On the inside of the card I used another sentiment from the Be Happy set.
I used the new CCD Mushroom Border die by die cutting white cardstock then using some of the same Copics I used on the main images to color them in.
Darcy, one of my lovely subscribers, contacted me after I mentioned in one of my videos that I *need* to get myself a Corner Chomper. Turns out she was given two of them for Christmas and obviously didn't need the extra one ;) So now I'm the proud owner of it!
It arrived in the mail yesterday along with a couple of cute little cards and itty-bitty stamp set. It felt like my birthday LOL!
So I wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Darcy and say THANK YOU!! It totally made my day and I am going to have a blast using this tool!
(((((hugs)))))
*I've been rounding the corners of various peices of paper since it arrived - yeah I'm a nerd...*
Well folks this is the last of the 2012 Valentine Series. I had more ideas but I'll have to save 'em for next years series - Valentine's Day is next week and after 14 cards and videos me thinks it's time to finally call it. Plus leaving it at 14 makes my OCD happy *wink*.
As always I do have other plans up my sleeves for more series - there's birthdays, sympathy, thank you, masculine, Easter, Mother's Day, baby, etc etc etc ETC. Basically it's just a matter of me finding the time to get it all done :) But I'll think of something.
Also stay tuned b/c I will *shockingly* have a post (or more) with cards that *don't* have videos to go along with them. I love doing videos and find it's easier to verbally explain and show y'all what I've done but sometimes I like to just sit down and create without a camera blocking my way and a bunch of editing to do afterwards :)
Anywho - back to today's card - something completely different from all the other ones.
If you missed any of the previous Valentine posts you can find them all here:
I've been having a lot of fun with this series - and even though Valentine's Day is only a week away I still have ideas rolling and hope to get at *least* one more video up for the series (besides this one). Moreso because my OCD doesn't want to leave it at 13 as 14 would be the best way to have it *rolls eyes*.
So we'll see what happens LOL!!
As always if you've missed any in the series you can find them all at the following links:
First off if you missed any of my previous posts (especially if you only check in during the week as I generally get at least one or two posts up during the weekend) you can find them all here:
So a couple of weeks ago I got an e-mail from Apple - just one of those weekly ones they send out featuring different products and whatnot. Well normally I delete them but there was a picture that caught my eye and I was totally inspired by this:
I loved the color combo and the way all the images and words were contained in a heart shape and thought why not re-create this look with stamps? So that's what I did - here's my take on it:
I'm gonna have to get inky and make some cards with them *soon*. I get so wrapped up when I'm in the middle of a "series" that I forget about everything else and there are just not enough hours in the day!
I'm super-pumped that it's Friday though and I plan on doing some major stamping this weekend!!
*and I still have plans for at least a couple more Valentine card videos - I know it's getting way too close to Valentine's Day but I still have a few ideas in mind for cards and want to share so keep checking back*
Stampin' Up! Detail White Embossing Powder (I guess they don't sell the detail powders anymore but really any white embossing powder will do as long as it isn't a "chunky" powder)
Embossing Buddy - mine was from Stampin' Up! (I've had it for YEARS) but they're all the same - I couldn't find it on the SU site but I did find an Inkadinkado one on Simon Says Stamp's website that's the same.
