It's been a long day (for me) and a LONG process (WAY longer than I thought) in the contest I posted 2 months ago. After some "issues" which I had posted about I finally got a response back from the company (my e-mails apparently got lost in the system - and I believe it just from the amount of traffic they get on their fb page and people constantly contacting them and whatnot). They phoned me yesterday and I was able to place my order for some fun feather extensions and they're on their way to me as I post this!

I planned on filming a video for this but I just finished working 11 hours and I'm beat. So a post will have to do!

First off a BIG HUGE GINORMOUS thank you to ALL of you that helped me win the contest I posted about in this post<-----click! Really words cannot express how awesome it was to win something like that. And it's literally thanks to all of you that followed the steps, and asked your friends, went on your hubby's facebook accounts and had them "like" it too LOL!

I really wish I could give away even MORE just to say thanks - but it just isn't possible (right now anyway - mebbe down the road tho I can do more giveaways!).

Since there can only be one winner basically the easiest thing to do was use random.org to first pick a page number (since there were over 20 pages of comments and over 400 comments in total) then pick a comment number from that page.

Happy Thoughts + Copic Coloring VIDEO

Hello everyone!

So the other day I was in the mood to make a girly birthday card just because. After all the Halloween cards I've made and then gearing up for the Christmas cards I just needed a bit of a "break" so this was the result:

It's embarassing to admit but I had yet to use my Magical Wishes stamp set (hangs head in shame) so I decided to go with that and then pulled out my Princess Anya image to go with it.

The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Springtime pack. I die cut a bunch of the patterns with my circle Spellbinders dies.

The ribbon is Mellow Moss taffeta from Stampin' Up!

After I had finished filming I ended up adding a bit of V93 and V95 to her lids as "eyeshadow".

Of course I had to bling her up a bit so I added Diamond Stickles to her crown and scepter and her dress. And then a teeny bit of it to her lids cuz a girl's gotta have sparkly eyeshadow *wink*.

The little diecut branches behind the prima roses were actually made with the new C.C. Designs Cutter Mistletoe Die. I cut out the branches, sponged them with ink then trimmed them down a bit before adhering them to the card.

 The sentiment like I said is from my Magical Wishes stamp set. I stamped it onto one of the patterned papers then cut it out with one of the Spellbinders tag dies (I can't find a link to them sorry!).

All those little sparkly baubles are Stamping Bella Glitter Dots. I've had them for years and always forget about them. You just glue them down with liquid glue (I used Tombow Mono Multi) and you're good to go.

On the inside of the card I followed the same "circle theme" I had going on the front - just making sure to use a "plainer" patterned paper for the largest circle as that's where the giver would write the note on.

The sentiment is again from Magical wishes - I thought it fit quite nicely on the yellow circle (and saved me from having to die-cut another label) so that's where I stamped it.

Hello hello everyone!

It feels like it's been FOREVER since I've posted - well I guess it's been just over a week since my last post so it has been a while.

I hope y'all have been doing well.

I took a little "me" time last weekend - my mom took me to the city on Sunday and I splurged a bit on random things (jewellery, makeup, Christmas presents for my kids, etc etc!) and spent over an hour at the new Sephora in Saskatoon. I LOVE Sephora and have been waiting for MONTHS and MONTHS for the Saskatoon location to open (only a little over an hour away!!). Obviously I wasn't the only one - the place was a madhouse and it's been like that pretty much since it opened 2 weeks ago. I'm glad I didn't make the trip in on opening weekend b/c I had people texting and updating me and it was CHAOS. I love makeup but I'm not crazy......lol!

Anywho - I'm super pumped I can finally get my favorite schtuff (somewhat) locally rather than driving to Calgary (5 hours away) or ordering online. I can hopefully space out my purchases a little more and not have to spend as much all at once (not too hard since most of the stuff I wanted was sold out anyway....ah well just means I have to make another trip!).

My birthday was this week (thus the shopping trip) too so I ended up placing an order at ATS for some stamping goodies (which I already mentioned on my Facebook page) so now I just have to wait for that to arrive. Which is kind of nice b/c it always feels like it's my birthday when I get a parcel full of goodies to open!

I DID receive an order from them yesterday that I had placed a couple of weeks ago - in it were some Christmas goodies and stuff I got to make Christmas cards. I'll have the haul video up on that asap.

And yeah it's getting to the end of the month so I need to get my butt in gear and start making some Holiday Cardmaking videos!

I took down all my Halloween stuff *sad face* even though I'd like to make a few more Halloween cards BUT I don't have the space for everything to be out so it all needed to make way for the Christmas/Holiday stuff......

So stay tuned - since this weekend I have time set aside to GET THINGS DONE - which means posts/videos etc etc etc will start going up regularily. And the Holiday Card Series will start SOON!

I love long weekends...

I just wanted to pop in here and wish all my Canadian readers a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!

We're going to my mom's tomorrow for turkey and all the fixin's - I'm really looking forward to it.

We got our house (mostly) cleaned up (lately I've been going through stuff and seriously PURGING - I HATE clutter and having tons of little knick knacks (aka dust collectors) and just STUFF everywhere!) and then had family pictures taken this afternoon.

I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out (I won't know for a couple of weeks at the earliest) but I'm glad it's all over and things can go back to semi-normal. And I'm glad we can all finally put away the clothes I bought for the shoot because if I had a dollar for every time the girls asked when they'd get to wear their new clothes...

Anywho I'm going to curl up on the couch with my hubby and watch a movie :o)

And then tomorrow I'm gonna make me a sour cream apple pie to take with us to mom's.

2011 Halloween Card Series - Card #12 VIDEO

Well I started cleaning off my desk and was contemplating putting all the Halloween cardmaking stuff away when my mojo decided to come back for a bit LOL!

So I made another card for the series (and still am not 100% sure yet if this is the last one or not - we'll see). I was aiming for 10, have done 12 so far and am feeling pretty good! It's been a CRAZY few weeks but the feedback so far has been awesome (for the most part - no matter what there will always be those that complain - such is life). And I've been having fun with it and I'm glad y'all are enjoyin' it!

So for today's card:

Now I mention it in the video that this Stampin' Up! set (Sweeter Treaters) is WAY retired. As in good luck ever finding one (that isn't crazy overpriced on e-bay - I think my hubby paid around $35 for it 6 or so years ago when he got it for me - who knows what it would go for now! I'm never getting rid of it though).

The little cling-mounted set I came across at Michaels was REALLY similar though - and all I remember was that it was by Recollections. I'm kicking myself for not getting it now just to compare to the SU set I've got. The style was similar from what I remember and when I got home I started wondering if they were drawn by the same artist - it's possible.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about or has the set and it IS similar lemme know in the comments. Or maybe I'm just losing my mind....who knows stranger things have happened *wink*.

Oh the joys...

No new video from me today sorry!

I tried to get it all done yesterday but this week has already been crazy and the stress is getting to me. Our furnace needed fixing which was #1 on the list - when you live in a province that can get colder than -30 a working furnace is kinda important!

And lately I've been having vehicle issues - thankfully my hubby can get that taken care of - it's just one of those things though (and an extra bill!).

Then this weekend is Thanksgiving (Canadians celebrate it in October - why I don't really know - usually it's never an issue but right now I wish it was in November like the US so I'd have more time LOL) and not only have we got dinner and whatnot I have a family photo shoot booked for this weekend.

Nothing like it all piling up on me at once eh?

I'll survive - but between all that, work, the kids, needing to get my house cleaned (REALLY needing to get my house cleaned!), etc etc etc trying to pump out more cards/videos just isn't working.

I haven't decided if the Halloween series is over for this year or not. I still have one video on my camera that I haven't edited and uploaded. I may still share that and another one or two but no promises. Y'all know that I obviously love Halloween so I am not ready to stop yet LOL!

I still have to start planning the Christmas series and have other ideas up my sleeves as well so stay tuned.....

My stamps haven't arrived yet that's why I haven't posted any samples yet (the post is taking FOREVER lately - I know I rant about it a lot but seriously - the stamps sent OVERSEAS arrived before mine did - how crazy is that?).

When they do get here I plan on having fun though!

And YES I've posted it on my Facebook page and throughout numerous posts on here - I AM planning on doing a Christmas/Winter cardmaking video series. Not sure exactly when that will start as I'm still concentrating on Halloween and can only do one thing at a time LOL! But it is coming ;o)
