2011 Halloween Card Series - Card #7 VIDEO

OK I'm hoping all the technical issues I was having yesterday were resolved so that it's not taking me twice as long to get stuff posted!

So we're onto Day #7 of my 2011 Halloween card series and I posted on my Facebook page that I'm aiming for 10 posts/videos - yes I'm crazy. But the ideas have been rolling and even though I'm exhausted (literally - I never thought it would be as much work as it has been) I have so many ideas that I can't squeeze onto just one card!

Keep checking in - I made another card and filmed another video yesterday that should go up tomorrow before I head to the city with my kids for a birthday party for one of their friends (which reminds me I need to get a gift together! AURGH! I'm getting BURIED in sticky notes here people!). If I get 10 vids done then there will be new posts Saturday, Sunday and Monday (you guys will be really sick of my voice by then I'm sure!).

I actually had a LOT of Halloween ideas last year and just never had the time to make the cards/projects. So I'm making the time now and just whipping up as much as I can.

It's insane but in a good way. I've been reading all the comments (and trying to reply to as many as possible) and am SO glad y'all are enjoying all these videos. I may be exhausted but honestly I have been having a ton of fun doing this. The ideas are flowing, the feedback is so positive and my stamp area isn't half as bad as I thought it would be *wink* (I've been making myself clean up after every project and it's amazing what a difference that makes LOL).

And yes I am hoping/planning on doing a Christmas series - prolly end of October/beginning of November (which isn't that far away - ack - not going to think about that right now!) - but no promises. Right now I'm literally taking it a day at a time LOL!

I'm really enjoying this series so far - the ideas are rolling and I want to do SO MANY lol! But time-wise I'm not sure how many I can handle - already it's getting to be exhausting.

As promised here is the first video in my Halloween Card Series!!

With all my videos and posts I always try to link to where I bought the products I use. With this Halloween series I will *try* to keep doing that but some of the products I use are out of stock/discontinued/just no longer available. Some companies don't release new Halloween products every year and I always keep all my Halloween stuff as it's not as easy to find anymore.

I will link to what I can, list alternatives when possible and when all else fails y'all will have to just use it as inspiration (which is really what it's all for in the first place) and substitute with whatever you can find :o)

Just Saying Hello PLUS Copic Coloring VIDEO

Well I'm on a roll folks. Three videos in three days!! (and FYI if you are subscribed to my channel on YouTube you may not have been getting my latest videos in your subscription - things have been wonky over there the past few days - no one knows what's going on).

 
I filmed a video of me coloring the CCD Swiss Pixie Sunflower Hansel image then finished the card last night:

I used the Basic Grey Pyrus collection for the patterned paper, the buttons and the bit of ribbon doilies behind the sentiment.

And I added a bit of jute twine as well :o)

 
The sentiment is from my new Fence Sentiments set. I stamped the 'Hello' onto one of the more nautral patterned papers and colored it in with Copics.

All the grass was done freehand with a couple of green markers (super simple just flick it upwards and vary the pressure between strokes).

 
The 'just saying' is also from the Fence Sentiments set - I stamped it onto a blue cardstock then punched it out with a small oval punch.

 
I lined the inside with patterned papers and used the same whitish/neutral paper from the pack for the part with the written message for the recipient.

I FINALLY got my September CCDesigns stamps - I don't know why but parcels are taking FOREVER lately to get to me. It's so frustrating! But they're here now and they're fabulous and I gotta make stuff with them!

So here's the first card:

 
This is the first time I've had a chance to use the Basic Grey Hello Luscious collection I bought not too long ago.

 
I used Copics to color in Latte Kiki La Rue  and paper pieced part of her dress with one of the Hello Luscious papers then had to bling her up a bit with Christmas Red Stickles.

The little crown brad was from the HL stitched brad pack.

 

 
  The sentiment is from my Sassy Sentiments set. I thought it was rather fitting ;o)

 
I lined the inside of the card with more patterned papers, added a couple of pieces of HL Ribbon Doilies then added an oval and scalloped oval for a place to write a message and that was it!

I just posted this pic on my Facebook page but I thought I'd share it here too (since I know some people don't use Facebook!)

I've been going through all my stuff and pulling out everything Halloween-related - since I am going forward with the Halloween card-making video series (and will start working on those soon!) as a LOT of you said YES to it!!

**and yes I heard all the requests for a Christmas series loud and clear - I plan on attempting that in a few weeks**

Anywho I had a whole pile of schtuff going on and decided to put it all up on display so I can see what I've got and go from there:

 
It just makes me happy :o)

Product Review - Marvy LePlume Pigmented Markers VIDEO

I hope you all had a great weekend. Things here have been a little depressing the past couple of weeks - several accidents in the area and several deaths. I found out last night that someone local that I went to highschool with passed away after being in a car accident (non-alcohol related) and was on life support these past 2 weeks.

It makes one think - and definitely makes one re-evaluate priorities and family and just life in general.

So that's why it's been quiet on here lately. I had made all these plans to stamp and create over the weekend and it just wasn't happening.

Plus we've had contractors here working on our flooded bathroom and entryway - that was all finally finished last week. So we've been cleaning and putting things away and REALLY enjoying living in a clean house these past several days. The chaos was getting to us all I'm thinking.....

Anywho - I had a lot of requests for this video as a lot of you wanted to know what I thought of the Marvy LePlume Pigmented markers. And no I haven't forgotten about comparing the regular LePlume markers with Copics and the Promarkers - that will come later :o)
