Cold northerly winds have ushered in cold Arctic air over the province. Temperatures near minus 30 along with wind speeds of 15 to 20 km/h are producing wind chill values near or below minus 40 across Western Saskatchewan this morning. These will moderate above warning criteria this morning as temperatures rise and winds diminish. At these wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin is possible within 10 minutes.
Fun times eh? And yet we still take the kids to school (in our town the school is never closed b/c of weather due to an incident happening years ago where a child was dropped off and the school was closed and the child nearly froze to death trying to walk back home) - but they aren't allowed outside at recess/lunch etc, go to work etc etc. Heck it's been colder than this this past winter - didn't we get close to -50C with the windchill not too long ago? LOL you just block it out after a while!
Anywho, I've got a more cheerful, springy, WARM card to share with y'all!
I chose the new Spring Kiki la Rue image (another one I've had that hadn't seen ink yet) along with the Cosmo Cricket Togetherness 6x6 collection.
I stamped Kiki la Rue onto CCD CQ80lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored her in with Copics.
I trimmed out the image then adhered her with dimensionals to a piece of patterned paper that I cut with one of my Labels 4 dies (yup those are definitely my favorite Spellbinders dies - I use them ALL the time).
The sentiment is from my Friends Sentiments set - I stamped it onto the turquoise cardstock then punched it out with one of my Stampin' Up! punches (the name escapes me at the moment - that's what COLD weather does to you LOL) then edged it (along with all the patterned papers) with black ink.
The large brad I used as the flower center is by Making Memories, the other brads were in my stash (I think they're Basic Grey ones) and the ribbon is May Arts.
I kept the inside of the card simple and just stamped Kikiwith pink ink onto white cardstock and cut it out with a Labels 4 die. I added some more patterned paper and that was it!
For those of you in my area - stay warm!! And for those of you that have been enjoying warmer temps - I'm jealous! I so wish I could be laying on a beach right now.......*grin*
