SNEAK PEEK - AmyR Stamps Sassy Sentiments

 
I'll apologise now for such a quick post - I have to run into work early and after working much later than planned last night everything is just NOT organized!

This was a fun set to design - I foresee a LOT of fun uses for it in the future! Just wait 'till you see the rest of the sentiments!

OK I'm back a little later than planned but here's the rest of the post!

I used the new Sugarplums Holiday Emma image as the main focus of my card and colored her in with Copics.

All of the patterned paper and the brads are from the Basic Grey Pyrus collection. 

The sentiment is from my Sassy Sentiments set - I punched it out with one of my SU punches.

On the inside of the card I used one of my Labels 5 dies (which I had also used on the front), along with more patterned paper and another sentiment from the Sassy Sentiments set.

Now for some card-goodness:

I used up the last of my pre-colored images from last year! Yeah me! LOL

I love this Fluffles Musketeer image - it just cracks me up LOL!

I colored him with my Koh-i-noor colored pencils and OMS. Then when I made the card I added some Lavender Stickles to his hat brim and sword handle, and added a tiny bit of Silver Stickles to the sword itself.

I used my new MFT Star Border die with black cardstock and added Black Diamond Stickles to it to make it all sparkly.

The 'Trick or Treat' is from the Spooky Sentiments set. I stamped it onto patterned paper then cut it out with one of my Labels 3 dies.

I used more patterned paper on the inside of the card (all from the MME BOO to You collection) and stamped Fluffles Musketeer onto some white cardstock with purple ink before using my Label 3 dies again.

And then to finish it all off I used another sentiment from the Spooky Sentiments set - I thought it fit rather well with this card LOL!

 

SNEAK PEEK - Sweet November Darby and Pudge

Aaaannndd this post is a little late but better late than never right? And I think YOU will think it's worth it when you're done reading the post *wink*

The sneak peeks have started on the ATS blog as we countdown to the November CC Designs stamp release, and today I've got a card I made with one of the new Sweet November images.

Meet Darby and Pudge:

I had fun making this card!

I did some paper piecing on Darby's skirt and toque, and colored in the rest of her with Copics. Little Pudge on his branch I colored with Copics as well then cut him out and adhered him after the card front was finished.

I used my new Basic Grey Jovial patterned papers (which I got recently and I filmed a haul video and haven't gotten around to editing and uploading it yet!!) for the paper piecing and on the rest of the card. I am really loving how it turned out on Darby! It was a fair bit of intricate cutting for the pieces of the toque but the end result was worth it IMO.

The 'Happy Holidays' sentiment is from my new Merry & Bright set.

Then on the inside of the card I used up the patterned papers that I had cut into for the front of the card and added a sentiment from my Holiday Greetings set.

I've been getting a lot of questions about my nails and what camera I use so here's a quick video answering those questions:

Halloween Wishes

This is one of my favorites from the Halloween cards I've made so far.

The trickortreatabella image is another one that I had stamped and colored in last year.

I used my Koh-i-noor colored pencils and OMS to color her in and even added a little fishnet detailing with a brown pencil - did that turn out fab or what?

And then of course I had to add some Orange Peel Stickles to her outfit and her little treat bucket.

The 'Halloween Wishes' sentiment is from the Spooky Sentiments set. I stamped it onto orange cardstock then cut it out with the Labels 9 die.

All of the patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Eerie collection. I still have so much of it left I think I'll be using it for next Halloween's creations too!

I even used some of my orange velvet ric rac on the card. It is SO soft and I don't use it too often for some reason but I thought it was perfect for this card!

Finally to finish off the inside of the card I used more BG Eerie patterned papers. 

I stamped trickortreatabella onto white cardstock with orange ink, die cut it and matted it then stamped the 'Happy Halloween' sentiment from Spooky Sentiments onto a strip of orange cardstock, adhered it into place and that was it!

Review Preview AmyR Stamps

I knew I was forgetting something yesterday and for the life of me couldn't put my finger on it.

Then I saw the ATS blog post - yesterday was the Review Preview Day for my two latest Holiday Sets:

Holiday Greetings

Merry & Bright

Oops!! LOL I had a card made already and had attempted a video (which was a FAIL since it was
at night when I filmed it and the quality was HORRIBLE - so I'll hafta attempt that another day) and then totally forgot the day it was supposed to go up (which is even more sad since it coincided with my birthday - shows how much I pay attention!).

So rather late than never here's my card:

I used my Snowflakes stamp set to create the patterned paper (which was left over from the card I posted here <---click!).

The glittery snowflakes were made using my Marvy Snowflake punches, my MFT Snowflake Trio Die-namics and glitter then attaching them to the card with a sewn-on button.

The sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings set - I stamped it onto the blue cardstock with pigment ink then embossed it with white detail embossing powder.

I added a few more buttons and made the turquoise scalloped border with the MFT Scalloped Scallop die (that's a lot of "scallops" in one sentence LOL!).

I lined the inside of the card with the rest of the snowflake paper I had made and stamped another sentiment from the Holiday Greetings set and that was it!

Happy Birthday Mermaid

 I had someone custom order a card for their daughter's birthday the other day with the requirements that it be either princess or mermaid and she had to have red hair.

So I pulled out my Sweet November Coral Reefweaver image and colored her with red hair :o)

And of course since it's for a little girl I had to bling her out with Stickles. I added Orange Peel to her hair and dotted Crystal Stickles along her tail.

I die cut the green cardstock with my MFT Jumbo Scallop die twice then ran the pieces through my CuttleBug with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.

The sentiment is from my Summer Sentiments set. The ribbon is May Arts textures. And the little starfish brad is by Doodlebug.

On the inside of the card I added another sentiment from the Summer Sentiments set along with a die cut circle and scalloped circle.

I forgot to take a pic of the Copics I used to color the mermaid in - so here's the list:

E50, E21, R20, YR04, YR07, YR09, BG13, BG15, BG18, YG0000, YG00, V15, V17

Heartfelt Sympathy

Did everyone have a good weekend?

I did :o) Tim won an incentive at work last month which meant we got a night in a hotel in the city and a bit of spending $$ so we went this weekend since my birthday is tomorrow.

We saw a couple of movies on Saturday - Red (with Bruce Willis) which I actually enjoyed (we only went to it b/c everything else was sold out) and then The Social Network which I REALLY enjoyed. Seriously good movie!

Anywho - I've got another card to share with y'all:

The only stamping I did on the card front was stamping this sentiment from the Sympathy Sentiments set onto CCD Sand Cardstock and embossing it with detail white embossing powder.

All the pattern paper, buttons and the large stitched brad are from the Basic Grey Cappella collection. The ribbon was from my stash (I'm pretty sure I bought it at Michaels years ago!).

I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch out the butterflies from one of the patterned papers.

Then on the inside of the card I used another sentiment from the Sympathy Sentiments set and stamped it onto sand CS as well and embossed it with white detail EP.

The little scalloped border strip is a ribbon doily from the Cappella collection.

All in all a fairly simple yet elegant card.

Batty For You!

More Halloween goodness!

This Swiss Pixies Halloween Birgitta image wasn't colored last year like my previous 2 cards - but I did color it a couple of months ago then forgot about it LOL! 

I have a hard time jumping back and forth between occasions when making cards - when I'm on a Halloween kick that's ALL I want to make, when I'm on a Christmas card kick same thing etc etc.

Which could be fine but being on a design team and prepping for releases one has to be flexible and be able to make cards for the occasion that the new soon-to-be-released stamps call for.

Needless to say it's something I still struggle with!

anywho...

SP Halloween Birgitta was stamped onto CCD CQ80lb cardstock (Memento Ink) then colored in with Copics.

I cut her out with my paper snips and a craft knife (for someone who HATED using a craft knife for YEARS - I am really starting to like the thing LOL!) then blinged her out with a few different colors of Stickles. Namely Black Diamond, Orange Peel, Stardust and Lime Ice Stickles.

The sentiments are from the Spooky Sentiments set. I put them together (as they're separate stamps - makes it more fun to mix and match words/sentiments) onto the acrylic block before stamping them onto the patterned paper and punching them out with my SU oval punch.

The bats and the spiderwebs were made with my Martha Stewart punch, and of course I covered the bats with Black Diamond Stickles too :o)

The purple patterned paper is from the MM Toil & Trouble pack and the rest of the patterned paper and the brads are from the MME Boo! to You collection which I bought last year and still have loads left of it. 

I *think* the ribbon is from May Arts - for once I'm not sure!! I've had it in my stash for a looonnnggg time and don't remember!!

On the inside of the card I used more patterned paper and die cut some cardstock with my Labels 4 die.

I stamped the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Spooky Sentiments set onto a scrap of patterned paper then die cut it with the same die before adhering it and that was it!

 

You're Bewitching

Is it sad that I bought a bag of candy corn JUST so I could use it in my pics of my Halloween cards??

LOL

I honestly don't even really LIKE candy corn - I can have one piece and that's it (one of the rare types of candy I can keep around without eating it LOL!!). It's just too sweet. I love the look of it tho.

Plus keeping it in my little stamping studio and away from my kids is a good thing. THEY don't think it's too sweet (in fact they each had several when I first brought the bag home) so I try and limit their intake b/c otherwise they get a total sugar-high *wink*

Anywho:

This witchybella image is another one I colored last year (one of the nice things about Halloween - the colors stay the same and I don't have to worry about trying to match papers or anything later on - so even after a year the coloring I did is still good!) with my Koh-i-noor colored pencils and OMS.

I used one of my petite oval nesties to cut the image out then left the die in place and sponged a little lime green chalk ink around the edges.

And of course I had to bling it up a bit with some stickles :o)

mmmmmmm Candy Corn......LOL

All the patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Eerie collection (again got that last year). I LOVE LOVE LOVE these papers for Halloween! I didn't even know I still had them 'till I pulled out my stash of H'ween papers and embellishments that I've had sitting since last year and came across this collection. Needless to say I've been having fun with it!

The sentiment on the front of the card is from my Autumn Sentiments set.

The ribbon is May Arts and the black spiderwebs were done with the Martha Stewart punch I got not too long ago (which FYI you have to set on a table and put your weight into it when punching it to get it to punch through heavier-weight cardstock (which is what I used here) - but it works!!). I don't know WHY I didn't order the large spider punch at the same time - kicking myself for that now!! :o(

On the inside of the card I added more patterned paper, die cut some ovals and scalloped ovals then added another sentiment from the Autumn Sentiments set and that was it!

Fluffles Witching You...

Oh Halloween!! 

I love Halloween - don't know why but I do!

All I made this weekend when I had the chance were Halloween cards - here's the first one I made:

I used my new Making Memories Toil & Trouble patterned papers on the card, along with sentiments from my Spooky Sentiments set. I used one of my SU punches to punch out the "Witching you...", and the ribbon is May Arts.

The spiderweb edging and the bat were done with Martha Stewart punches. Love that bat punch!! :o)

I colored in this Fluffles stamp last year (yes I said last YEAR). I had stamped out several Halloween images and had taken them to work with me to color in when I had time between clients. I never got a chance to make any cards with the images so I saved them. And then of course I totally forgot about them and just came across them the other day when I was organizing some cardstock.

I don't even know if this particular Fluffles image is even available anymore - I was on the Stampendous site and couldn't find it :o(

I used Kooh-i-noor pencils and Gamsol (artist-grade odorless mineral spirits) to color in the image. Then when I made this card I added Stickles to bling it up again.

On the inside of the card I added more patterned paper, and edged both sides of the black cardstock with the MS Spiderweb punch.

On the white cardstock I stamped the Fluffles image with purple ink then stamped another sentiment from the Spooky Sentiments set onto the olive cardstock before adhering it and that was it!
