SNEAK PEEK - AmyR Stamps Holiday Greetings and Merry & Bright Sets

Hello everyone!

Today is the day of sneak peeks showing my TWO new Holiday sets - Holiday Greetings and Merry & Bright. I LOVE having a lot of variety when it comes to Christmas/Holiday cardmaking and am so pleased with how these sets turned out - I hope y'all love 'em as much as I do!

Here's the card I made:

I used my Snowflake stamp set along with several colors of ink and stamped them randomly all over white cardstock before cutting it out with a Labels 4 die and sponging the edges.

The snowflakes that are attached with a button were punched out with my Marvy Punches - the big one I adhered glitter to (I just used my Mono Multi and poured on some glitter from my stash) before attaching it to the card.

The ribbon is May Arts. 

The embossing was done with a CuttleBug folder - I think it was one from last years holiday collection? I don't think it's available anymore sorry!

Then the sentiment - this one is from the Holiday Greetings set. I stamped it onto light blue cardstock and embossed it with Detail White embossing powder.

I then used one of the smaller petite oval dies to cut it out and matted it with one of the petite scalloped oval dies.

Then on the inside of the card I added another piece of cardstock that I had stamped with the Snowflake images. I stamped a sentiment from the Holiday Greetings set onto white cardstock, cut it out with a Labels 4 die, sponged the edges and adhered it and that was it! 

 

SNEAK PEEK - Cuddle Crew

Hey everyone!

Sorry I meant to post this earlier but I was at work all day and didn't have the time.

Today was the sneak peek post of a couple images by a new designer at ATS - the Cuddle Crew lines has 2 new images that will be available with the October release.

I made this card with one of them - meet "Free Wheelin' Wally:

I wasn't in a mood to do a whole bunch of coloring when I made this so instead I stamped the image onto CCD Sand cardstock and embossed it with white detail embossing powder.

I used some of my warm grey Copics to add a bit of shadow and definition to the image then cut it out with the largest of the circle nestabilities dies.

All of the patterned paper and the large stitched brad are from the Basic Grey Oliver collection that I picked up at my LSS not too long ago (I filmed a quick haul video showing it but haven't had a chance to edit and upload it yet).

The sentiments are from my Big Words and Handy Additions sentiments sets. I embossed the 'happy' with the white detail EP then stamped the Birthday over it and punched it out with my SU! Key Tag punch.

Finally on the inside of the card I just lined it with more patterned paper and added a strip of the Oliver Ribbon Doilies that I had also bought when I bought the paper.

Honestly I had the hardest time choosing an image to make a card with (because I love them all!) so in the end I made 3 cards - but I'm only sharing one for now - the other two I'll save and post later!

Isn't this Sugarplums Angel ADORABLE??

I stamped her onto CCD CQLW cardstock with Memento Ink then colored her in with Copics.

I paper-pieced her little dress - all the patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather pack - I love how it has the purple in it! I get stuck in the traditional Christmas colors so papers like this just mix it up and make it more fun IMO.

And of course I added some bling with Diamond Stickles.

The sentiment is actually ANOTHER sneak peek of one (of TWO!!) of MY new sets that will be released right away - more on that in a couple of days so stay tuned!!

  The snowflakes and the scalloped black edge were made with MFT die-namics. I used Doodlebug brads to attach the snowflakes.

On the inside of the card I used more Mitten Weather papers, along with another one of my *new holiday sentiments* *grin*!!

For the first time in MONTHS (actually well over a year) I pulled out one of my Stampin' Up! sets and made a couple of cards:

I had never used this set (Branch Out - I don't think it's available anymore - I didn't see it in the current catalogue) even though I thought it was so cute when it came out and "had to have it" of course!

I pulled out my Cosmo Cricket Pixie-Licious patterned paper pad along with a fwe matching embellishments and whipped up these cards in no time!

I stamped the trees on white cardstock with light brown ink then stamped the leaves with 2 different green inks - stamping twice each time before re-inking.

For a little added bling I dabbed on a bit of Lime Ice Stickles :o)

I used my Labels 8 dies to cut out the trees.

The Thank You sentiment is from the Thank You Sentiments set - I stamped it onto Regal Rose cardstock and punched it out with an oval punch.

The ribbon is May Arts and the primas were from my stash.

On the inside of the card I added a bit more patterned paper, then stamped the tree (I stamped it off first on scratch paper to get a lighter image) and some leaves.

The verse is another from the Thank You Sentiments set - I thought it fit rather well with this image :o)

Honestly it felt a little weird making these cards - it's been SO long since I've made anything that didn't need to be colored in first!! It was rather nice though!

Sympathy Card Set

Honestly I don't really LIKE making sympathy cards - I find it rather depressing. However I find if I make some up when my stash is getting low the process is MUCH easier than trying to make a sympathy card that you NEED to use/give right away YKWIM?

SO - this past week that's what I did - I made up a few Sympathy cards to have on hand.

Here's the first two I made:

I used my Sympathy Sentiments set for all the cards I made - which made it even easier as I didn't have to hunt around for the "right" image(s) or the "right" sentiments - the were all in one place.

 
For this first card I stamped the floral branch image onto CCD LWCQ cardstock and colored it in with my Copics.

I added some Cinnamon Stickles to the flower centers and cut out the image with one of the Labels 4 dies.

The prima flowers were originally white - I used the same Copics that I used on the image to tint them to a matching color (you can watch the video I did on that HERE), then attached them with some glazed brads.

All the patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Cappella set.

The sentiment is from the Sympathy Sentiments set - I used one of my SU punches to punch it out.

I used more patterned paper on the inside of the card along with a bit of the ribbon doilies in the Cappella set. I then stamped one of the verses in the set onto blush cardstock and cut it out with one of the smaller Labels 4 dies.

 

Card #2 was done slightly different - same color scheme/paper/embellishments (I just left out the hint of blue this time).

I used my new MFT Open Scallop Border die (don't worry I haven't forgotten about the review video that I promised on them - I plan on doing that this weekend!) with blush cardstock, and added another tinted prima flower with a glazed brad.

On the inside is more patterned paper and another verse from the Sympathy Sentiments set.

ETA - sorry folks I forgot to mention where I got it! I bought it from All That Scraps - I just came across it one day and it looked interesting so I bought it LOL! 

I don't know where else you would find this - not sure if any fabric/quilting stores would carry it (couldn't hurt to ask tho if there's one you frequent often), you'd have better luck checking out a scrapbook store (again you may have to ask for them to get it in). I'd never seen it before 'till I came across it on the ATS site.

Hello everyone!

I hope y'all have had a good weekend so far - I know mine's been rather uneventful (which is a good thing IMO).

I have another Bella card to share with y'all that goes with the "set" of them I've made.

Now for card #4 in the set:

I used the puppybella image from Stamping Bella for this card along with a sentiment from my Big Words stamp set. And of course all the patterned paper is from the BG Max & Whiskers collection.

I stamped the image onto CCD CQLW cardstock with Memento ink then colored it in with Copics. It's hard to tell but I also took a fine-lined black pen and just lightly turned up the ends of the puppy's mouth to make her look more "happy" as she does look a little sad normally LOL!

I used my Labels 9 die to cut out the image and the SU! Key Tag punch to punch out the 'smile' sentiment from the Big Words set.

I used some wide ribbon from my stash (I think it was made by DoodleBug - I've had it for years) along with a Prima flower I dug out too.

The glazed brad, blue brads, and the black ribbon doily are all from the Max & Whiskers collection.

On the inside of the card I added more patterned paper, die cut some white cardstock with the label 9 die and stamped the puppybella image onto it with a mustard ink.

Happy Bird-day To You

I think this For the Birds set is so cute - and it's been bugging me that I hadn't inked it up yet so the other day I pulled it out and made this card!

I used some more of my BG Nook & Pantry papers in an attempt to start using them up, and also b/c it had this super-adorable cupcake pattern which is what made me choose this image in the first place *grin*

I stamped the birdies onto CCD CQLW cardstock with Memento Ink then colored them in with Copics.

And of course I had to bling it up a bit so I added some Stardust Stickles to the image.

The sentiment is from the For the Birds set, after stamping it I used my Spellbinders Label 11 die to cut out the image.

I also used one of the Nook & Pantry stitched brads (another attempt in my efforts to start USING things up rather than hoarding them!!) to attach a large Prima from my stash.

If you look closer at the 2 strips of paper that I adhered to the middle of the card you can see that I fringed them out with my new MS Fringe Scissors (which I promised a review on and that will be posted right after this post (or before depending on when you visit me here)). 

Then on the inside of the card I added more patterned paper, die cut white cardstock using the largest of the Labels 11 dies, and stamped the birds and cupcake image onto it with pale green ink.

I added another sentiment from the For the Birds set and that was it!

SO - today was a Review Preview day over on the ATSblog - we (the design team) made up some cards with the CCD Take a Seat Kit which is limited edition and will only be available until the 20th of this month (September 2010 if you are reading this post later than that).

And here's the card I made:

Even though I used the chair on the last card I made with this set I had to use it again - I love it!

I pulled out some OLD (I can't even remember when this paper was released - BG is always releasing so many different lines it's hard to keep up/keep track with them all) patterned paper for this card.

It's from the Archaic line by Basic Grey - love this stuff - perfect for masculine/boy-themed cards!

I paper pieced the chair and rug with the patterned papers before adhering them to the background I created with more papers from the line.

I stamped the Sitting Trevor image from the kit onto CCD lightweight copic quality cardstock (memento ink) then colored him in with Copics.

I paper pieced his shirt with one of the Archaic patterned papers - too fun.  

I pulled out some buttons and jute from my stash to embellish the card, and used the largest of my spellbinders scalloped rectangle nestability to frame the main image. I adhered Trevor with dimensionals after cutting him out.

I lined the inside of the card with another of the patterned paper, die cut a scalloped rectangle from white cardstock and adhered that then paper pieced another chair from the same pattern I used on the front and adhered that as well.

So I had a client reschedule last minute this morning which gave me some extra time before I have to go to work - SO I sat down and stamped of course!

And the patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Archaic 6x6 pack - I've had it forever and I don't think you can get it anymore? I dunno but I love it for Masculine/Boy cards so I don't plan on ever getting rid of it.

Now to finish the card I started using that paper and the stamps from the Take a Seat Kit :o)....I'll post it when I'm done!
