Only One More Day...

Only one more day of work then I get a long weekend to enjoy!!!

That's all that's keeping me going right now. I've been working a LOT these past few weeks, and it's starting to show. I'm tired and getting stressed and cranky (and my house is a disaster!). But I've got a 5 day mini-holiday to look forward to (Thursday is Canada Day and I took Friday and the weekend off) - and maybe (hopefully!!) I will get some ME time and actually stamp something!!

I do have a couple of exciting things to look forward to - #1 is my recent order from All That Scraps arrived today (I will prolly do another haul video on it and upload it to my YouTube channel) - I'm hoping some new goodies will jump-start my stampin' mojo ;)

And #2 - even though I am working another long day tomorrow - I have a pretty special client in the morning - and some of you might recognize her. Makeesha Byl is in Canada for her brother's wedding and they're traveling across Canada in an RV with their kids on the way there - how cool is that?

Anyway she gets her nails done at home (Australia) and she had e-mailed me some time ago asking if I could do them for her on their way through Saskatchewan so of course I said yes. 

So I get to meet her tomorrow and do her nails - my first international client LOL! It should be pretty fun.

Anywho there's another quick update from me. I just got home from my salon and I am exhausted. That plus I didn't get a chance to eat much today so I'm starving too - need to find food! *grin*

I still haven't stamped yet (I've been working extra this past week and will be working extra next week - it's high school grad next week plus a holiday so I'm squeezing people in so that I can take the long weekend off - cannot wait!!) BUT I do have a stamping video to share with y'all!

As you'll see when you watch the video - it isn't NEW. I actually filmed it back in November - and I swear I thought I had edited it and uploaded it back then too! 

I was going through my videos and didn't see it - so I went through all my files on my computer and discovered I had only partially edited and never uploaded it like I thought I had.

First off thank you to everyone who left some kind words and encouragement on my last post!

My stampin' mojo is still lost somewhere - BUT I did get a fair bit of things done on my to-do list this past weekend - which usually helps jump-start my desire to stamp (when I get the free time!). I won't have a chance to do much regardless 'till the weekend as I'm working all week.

However I wanted to share this with you guys. I still get questions from people asking where I'm from (Saskatchewan, Canada) - and for the most part it's a province of a LOT of flat land - mostly farming and cattle around here - nothing too exciting :o)

Well ever since Tim and I got back from vacation in Vegas (it's been nearly a month now) it's been raining. We've had maybe a handful of sunny days - which is rare. We've actually had more rain this year than this province has seen in 100 years.

Thankfully where we live this hasn't affected us much (except for raining out the occasional softball game for Tim or keeping us cooped-up inside) - and I don't mind the rain too much - it makes everything green and prevents me from doing yardwork (which I hate LOL).

However for a lot of people it's been a HUGE hassle - I know a lot of people who've had flooded basements (my dad being one of them - and for those that remember me posting about his motorcycle accident nearly 2 years ago he's finally back at work (he was in physical therapy for nearly a year) and things are going really good - except for his basement!) and all kinds of issues related to all this rain.

ANYWHO - the reason I'm rambling is to show y'all a couple of videos I found that relate to all of this. Lately we've been getting a LOT of traffic through town as they shut down one of the major highways to Alberta because of all the flooding in the southern part of the province (thankfully far from where we're living) and had to re-route all the traffic.

I assumed they just had to wait for the water to dry up - but it's a *leetle* more complicated then that:

So it's definitely going to be quite some time before they can fix that highway! Where the highway collapsed the water rose about 30 feet - that was the height from the ground to the top of the culverts where the highway was built.

Hi Everyone!

I'm still alive - just trying to juggle way too much lately.

I hate to admit it but until just recently I haven't stamped a THING since I went on that stamping retreat a month and a half ago. I think that's the longest I've ever gone without stamping since I started!!

I had all the cards I made at the retreat to share on here and I still have a couple left to share.

Between work and family and just life in general I can barely keep my head on straight.

Every time I would sit down to stamp something I felt guilty because I had so many other things that NEEDED to be done (laundry, dishes etc etc - y'all know what I'm talking about!) - which effectively killed my mojo.

And something I hate to admit even more is that I've been working on a few cards (basically several of the SAME card - just different colors and whatnot) - and it's taking me forever to finish them. They're simple to begin with and my brain just isn't working like it used to (which happens when I don't stamp often enough! It just makes it harder to get in the groove and whip up a bunch of cards!) so I keep getting frustrated and leaving the room to go work on other things.

I'm definitely in a rut and have been for some time. Hopefully I will get my stampin' mojo back SOON!!

SNEAK PEEK - AmyR Stamps Baby Sentiments

Again I don't have my own samples to share yet - BUT the stamps arrived yesterday when I was at work so YAY!! It is my mission today to get some cards made in between the housework LOL!

So the second set I'm releasing this month is (obviously) Baby Sentiments. I've been NEEDING a set like this so I had to design one with a lot of sentiments and verses for the outside and INSIDE of your cards (y'all know how I like to finish the inside too!).

After being on vacation I worked overtime ALL week - I needed to fit in extra clients and shuffle things around and worked late every night. Needless to say I am exhausted and my house is a disaster and I didn't see much of my girls either :o( So I've got a lot of catching up to do this weekend!!

SNEAK PEEK - AmyR Stamps Summer Sentiments

Well I was hoping I'd have some samples to share with y'all seeing as I have 2 sets being released at All That Scraps this month

BUT, my stamps haven't arrived!! :o(

I swear it's only when I NEED a parcel to show up that it doesn't. I had hoped they would arrive when we were on vacation but they didn't, and I've been checking at the PO every day since we got home and they're still not here.

Sketch from Vegas

While Tim and I were in Vegas we came across a kiosk in one of the malls where a person will draw a cartoonish version of you/and or your significant other.

Since we had one done 5 years ago (right after we got married) at West Edmonton Mall we thought it'd be a fun tradition to get one done again.

hehehe I like how skinny he made me look *wink* 

Now I just hafta get it matted and framed and maybe I'll actually get the other drawing framed (it's WAY bigger than this one - this is 11x17" and the other one we had done 5 years ago is even bigger - more poster sized I think? That's why I haven't had it framed yet - will have to be a custom job if I want anything nice....) and we can put 'em up somewhere in the house!
