Glitter Butterfly

 

I made this the other day and have been meaning to post it every day since - well today is FINALLY the day LOL

This card uses my new Butterfly set along with my Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday papers.

The focus of the card is of course on the glittery butterfly (I took a video of the process so hopefully I can get that all edited and whatnot and uploaded tonight to share with y'all), then I stamped the smaller butterflies from the set onto the patterned paper and added some buttons from my stash.

It took me FOREVER to find the perfect ribbon for this card (even with my immense ribbon stash I still have trouble finding just the "right" ribbon for a project!!) and I finally settled on this wide Olive Grosgrain (from Stampin' Up!) that matches the green in the Girl Friday papers PERFECTLY :)

The sentiment is also from the Butterfly set - I stamped it on a scrap of cardstock then cut it out with one of my Label Trio dies.

On the inside of the card I used up more of the patterned paper, added yet another sentiment from the set and at the last minute decided to stamp the large butterfly onto one of the patterned papers and cut it out.

I'm SO glad I did that as I *love* how it turned out!! I'm definitely going to have to make another card or something that uses the same "technique" - so stay tuned for that!!

Coloring the Bumble B Bear Image with Copics VIDEO

LOTS of requests keep coming in for me to continue making Copic coloring videos!

I'm hearing y'all loud and clear! I'm definitely no expert at coloring but if y'all are wanting more videos showing me coloring with Copics then I'll continue to upload them :o)

So here's the one I did using the Bumble B Bear image from Diane's new set - and if you missed it you can see the full post HERE with the card and whatnot.

**And FYI I received a lot of questions asking why some of the videos pause every few seconds or take forever to play all the way through. When a video is first uploaded on the site it takes a while for it to stream and process and all that, and if there is a lot of traffic everything gets slowed down.

What works best is to click PLAY then IMMEDIATELY pause the video and allow it to fully upload - the light red bar will move all the way to the end - once it's all the way to the end the video is fully uploaded and you should be able to watch it no problem all the way through.**

Bumble B Bear

OK I FINALLY got this card done and pics taken and edited!!

 

I had a lot of fun making this card!!

I took a couple of videos while coloring and whatnot but those still need to be edited and whatnot before I can upload those - so look for those in the next day or so hopefully!

This is Diane's newBumble B Bear set.

I stamped the largest bear onto CCD White cardstock and colored him in with my Copics.

I then decided to cover his bee suit with white fun flock so I used my Sakura glue pen to adhere it.

All the patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie line.

Ribbon is May Arts textured (LOVE this ribbon - seriously LOVE it).

On the inside of the card I used more of the Urban Prairie papers, then stamped and cut out the hunny pot image and stamped the flying bee image from the set directly onto the paper.

The sentiments on both the front and inside of the card are from the Bumble B Bear set - I used the Stampin' Up!s Word Window punch for both - for the inside I had to trim the cardstock then used the punch to round the edges.

Release Day!

YAY! Tonight at 10pm EST all the new stamp sets will be released at All That Scraps! That includes 2 of my sets - Underwater Sentiments and Butterfly!

I planned on posting samples yesterday and today - but yesterday we took the girls swimming at the local pool (twice!) and just spent the day with them - so I wasn't in the mood to post.

And then of course TODAY my 'net keeps going down on me and driving me insane! It's still acting up so trying to post anything is difficult but I will be trying to get a post up later this afternoon (b/c of course I have to work all afternoon).

I've taken some time to make a couple more videos this weekend so once I get those edited and uploaded I'll be posting them on here this week as well.

Sneak Peek - Underwater Adventure

**I've been posting at least once a day since the 1st! There's TON to see so if you missed anything just scroll down!**

As I alluded to in yesterday's post - I have another sneak peek for y'all!

This is for the soon-to-be-released Underwater Adventure set (more info here) - this is the set that I designed my Underwater Sentiments to go with and it is seriously the most ADORABLE set EVER!!!!

When I first received the set I had a standing request for a special birthday card. It was for a little girl's birthday and the mom wanted mermaids and girly and all that fun stuff. PLUS she wanted it if possible to be a larger card (like 5x7) so that she could FRAME it for her daughters room!

A task like that is a little daunting when you know what you make is going to be on display like that! But I KNEW this set would be perfect so as soon as it arrived I got to work.

And here's the end result:

 

I stamped all the images onto watercolor paper with Palette Hybrid Noir ink and watercolored them with my Peerless Watercolors.

I made everything SUPER glittery with Stickles.

I cut out pretty much every single image (and multiples of the bubbles and seaweed) then added the stickles and set them all aside to dry.

I added a ton of Yellow Stickles to Emma's hair and used White Opal Liquid Pearls on the pearls in her hair and at her waist.

 

The letters were diecut from cardstock using my CuttleBug Red Tag Sale alpha dies. I then coated all of them in stickles as well.

The fishy paper is from Flair's Hit the Beach line - I die cut that with one of my Spellbinders Petite Oval Dies and matted it with a scalloped oval cut from black cardstock.

I added some rhinestones from my stash and attached all the images with a TON of dimensionals once it was all dry!

I didn't bother taking a picture of the inside of the card as I kept it super simple. Since this was to be framed no one will ever see the inside again.

Sneak Peek and a Sketch Sample

**This is post #2 for today! I've been posting at least once a day since the first so scroll down in case you've missed some!**

The Stickles are finally dry so here's my card!

I made it not only for the latest Friday Sketch! but also for today's ATS Sneak Peek - today we're peeking my other soon-to-be-released set called Underwater Sentiments :o)

If you liked my Beach Sentiments set you're gonna love this one!!

 

I'm also peeking ANOTHER soon-to-be-released set that we will talk more about tomorrow (and just wait 'till you see the sample I made for that!!) - that was the inspiration for my Underwater Sentiments set.

I did some masking and coloring with my Copics then as a final touch I added some Diamond Stickles to make it all oh-so-sparkly :o)

The patterned paper is all from Cosmo Cricket's Snorkel line - I used that to inspire the color combo for the rest of the card.

I lined the inside of the card with more Snorkel patterned paper.

I stamped another die cut circle with another sentiment from the Underwater Sentiments set, and images from the companion image set, colored them all in with Copics and added more Stickles.

Friday Sketch! with Guest Tammy Fielder (July 3/09)

Sorry this is so late everyone!!

I was running errands for my mom this morning, then had a traumatic episode when I entered my studio this morning. Nothing serious just a massive moth above my computer (yeah yeah you all can laugh!!).

I don't know why but I have a serious phobia of moths. They freak me out!! If one comes flying anywhere near me I'll run screaming like a girl. Even more than spiders I HATE moths! And lately there have been a TON of them around here! *shiver* I reallyreallyreally can't function if I know there's a moth in the room with me.

So yeah I'm a sissy when it comes to those things!

ANYWHO I've got a new sketch for y'all. This is another by my fab guest gal Tammy - I LOVE her sketches. She's comes up with the coolest layouts!! And she makes gorgeous cards too so if you don't already follow her blog you should!! Check it out HERE <-------click!

Sneak Peek - AmyR Stamps Butterfly Set

Yup that's right - an IMAGE set this time! And butterflies at that!

This is one of two sets of mine that will be released at All That Scraps on Monday (July 6) - sneak peeks for that one will start tomorrow.

For now here's my sneak peek of this new Butterfly set:

 

I stamped the sentiment and the butterfly with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then cut out the image with my paper cutter and used paper snips to cut around the wings of the butterfly.

I used Copic markers to color in the butterfly and then went over it all with my Gold Copic Spica pen which tinted it to a more carmel color and gave it all a subtle shimmer.

The splattering was done with my SU! Color Spritzer and SU Close to Cocoa marker.

The patterned paper, buttons and brads are all from the Basic Grey Porcelain line.

Ribbon is May Arts textured.

Sneak Peek - Itzie Inkies Chasing Butterflies

ACK!! We're gearing up for another stamp release over at All That Scraps and I have a TON of samples I need to make and post!

Release day is always the first Monday of the month at ATS - so this month it's July 6th.

The ideas have been rolling and I have so many things that I want to make - now it's just a matter of finding the TIME to make everything.

Stay tuned this weekend as there are sneak peeks every day and I plan on having at least one new post every day! We'll see if I'm that consistent *wink*.

So here's the first sneak peek - this is using the new Itzie Inkies Chasing Butterflies set:

 

Isn't this kitty adorable??

I stamped it onto white cardstock then colored it all in with my Copics.

The background was done by running the cardstock through my Big Shot using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

I then made the grass by cutting up some green cardstock with my paper snips and adhering it in layers.

I attached the kitty image with dimensionals, then added a butterfly that I made using 2 of my Martha Stewart butterfly punches.

On the inside of the card I added more cardstock and made another strip of "grass".

The sentiment that comes in the Chasing Butterflies set was stamped onto white cardstock then cut out with one of my Spellbinders Label Trio dies.

I added another punched butterfly and that was it!!
