Whew what a LONG two days this weekend has turned out to be. I was able to go to the city to see Dad yesterday (whatever Josie had that made her so sick was short-lived thank goodness - in 24 hours she was good to go!).
Dad is doing good. I saw him twice yesterday and the first time he was really heavily medicated so he kept passing out between sentences. His sense of time and a lot of other things are all out of whack b/c of the meds - with all the broken ribs (almost all on his left side are broken in 2 places and 2 broken ribs on his right plus a broken shoulder blade on his left) and the wounds from the road rash he HAS to be medicated. I can't even imagine how painful it is for him to breathe.
He was pretty out of it though for both of my visits yesterday - the second one was better than the first (he was joking around a bit and whatnot). However I took the girls in today to go the the zoo (they loved it!) and see a movie (Horton Hears a Who at the cheap theatre - Josie LOVED that movie - she sat through the whole thing and laughed her head off - will definitely be getting that one on DVD!) - and afterward went to see Dad again. He has his own private room and already is doing even better than yesterday. He was taken off the oxygen last night and still didn't need it when I saw him today so that is another big step. I still don't know how long he will be in the hospital but hopefully I can manage to get in often to see him - it feels so much better to be able to see him up and around and functioning (and I am so thankful for all the prayers and support from all of you - I KNOW it made a difference).
That's it for now. I am EXHAUSTED. I DO have something creative to share that will go live in a couple of hours (got one big project done!) so I hope y'all like it!
