Nothing crafty to show in this post (check back later on tonight for a crafty post - it's a big one! *grin*) - just feeling a little blah and have to let it out since I KNOW most of y'all will understand!
I just got a call that the reception that I was supposed to make invites for was cancelled :o(
Not necessarily a big deal (the peeps are still getting married - just not having the reception - long story) - but the fact that I've put HOURS into creating the samples (they were to be several layers, ribbons, flowers, BLING - in fact it was basically the first card in this post - but with different colors and whatnot) as each sample I made had to be tweaked and re-made till I got it the way they wanted it.
I've had a feeling that this was going to fall through but I was *really* hoping that it wouldn't as the $$ from them was supposed to go towards some supplies I've been needing.
Ah well - they said they'd get back to me as I told them that I would really appreciate being compensated for my time (I literally have spent HOURS talking/meeting with them and making samples - and honestly I was looking forward to making them!).
Anywho I feel pretty blah now about it all - it just sapped the creative energy I had going on today - and I sadly have all the supplies sitting here to make them with no idea what to do with them all.
I also thought it'd be a good idea to share it here since I know a lot of people out there sell their cards or take orders or whatever - trust me it is WORTH IT to charge for your time or at least to get a NON-REFUNDABLE down payment (I WAS going to do that - I don't start any major project like this without getting a 50% deposit before I start creating - but they hadn't even decided on the finished card yet - I know now that I need to start charging right off the bat for my time to create all the samples as well as the supplies used).
Lesson learned.
Anyone want to buy 36 cards like THIS except in Pink Passion and Chocolate Chip?? LOL
