Bella Cards

Here are just a few of the Bella cards I've made recently. I made up a bunch of different Bella cards and packaged them up in sets to give to a couple of friends for Christmas.

This one used billybootabella, and the sentiment is from A Muse.

I used Sakura's Clear Gloss pen on her umbrella - making it all shiny ;)

Getting Back At It

I have to say thank you again to everyone who posted well wishes and sent e-mails and thought of me these past few days over my aunt passing away. Her funeral was yesterday (which also happened to be her birthday - making it even more difficult) and afterward everyone got together at a family members home for food and a chance to catch up with family and friends that we haven't seen in some time. It really helped to have all the support and just knowing that there are people out there who are thinking of me means more than I can say - so thank you!!

And now that the holidays are almost over and I've felt that I've taken a long enough break from blogging I have TONS of things to do and tons of things to share!

First off here's a card I made before Christmas:

I used GinaK's Text Messages set - stamped the cell phone and sentiment onto white card stock then colored it in with Copic markers.

I went over the phone with Star Dust Stickles (so it's VERY glittery - I want a phone like that LOL...).

To embellish the card I added a Prima Silk Road flower and a Bazzill Bitty Blossom, attaching them with Making Memories Crystal Brads.

I added 3 more of the MM brads to the bottom right and some May Arts Fuchsia Ribbon.

The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up! (the retired Spring Flowers collection).

I really appreciate all the kind and concerned comments and e-mails (I read every one). I don't think I'll be able to reply to all the e-mails but they ARE very appreciated!

And for those of you that said it was probably a good thing that she passed quickly - I do have to agree. It would have been awful for it to have drawn out for longer and her having to suffer and be in any more pain.

I do honestly believe she is in a much better place - I know I personally will be able to move on and get through all this - it's her husband and children, my grandma (who's 89) and of course my mom that I am most concerned about right now. I haven't seen any of them yet (only talked to my mom on the phone a couple of times) so I have no idea how they are all doing.

This is all I have time for to post - I am leaving right away for the city to get some things done and then to attend the family viewing and service tonight. Tomorrow is the funeral.

Again HUGE ((((HUGS)))) to everyone - from the comments I read there are so many (TOO many) that have gone through this and worse and my heart goes out to you all!!

Difficult

I just wanted to post a quick FYI that I won't be posting on here for a day or two. My aunt passed away last night (11 pm Christmas Day) and I need to take a little break to get things together.

Aunty Rosanne (my mom's younger (and only) sister) was diagnosed with ovarian cancer about a month ago. 2 weeks after her diagnoses it had spread throughout her body and into her brain - and we all knew it was only a matter of time as there were no treatments that would help.

I wasn't expecting the call and was really hoping she'd be able to hold on longer - she's only 46 and this all happened so fast that our family is having a rough time with everything.

Normally I don't post a lot of really personal info on my blog - but right now it just feels wrong to me to NOT post this and not remember her in some small way.

My thoughts and prayers are with not only my own family but everyone out there who has had to deal with this terrible disease and what it does to everyone around them.

Just wanted to say....

Merry Christmas everyone!!

It's a little past midnight here and yup - we're wrapping presents as I type LOL! I can't wait till the girls get up - they were so excited at bedtime and went down so well b/c we told them Santa wouldn't come unless they went to sleep - and they did!! (I only wish they were this good every night.......*wink*).

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Now to finish the hot apple cider and head to bed!! G'night!

Floral Fun

Christmas is in 2 days and I still have to wrap all the presents! I don't know why but I keep putting it off - I even have wrapping paper that matches my tree decoration and it STILL didn't spur me on to get it done. Knowing me I'll be madly wrapping gifts Christmas morning ROFL!

Anyway I hope everyone is starting to enjoy the holidays - things are pretty quiet around here - and COLD!! We've been sitting at close to -40 (same in Celsius and Fahrenheit - means it's COLD!) with the wind chill for the past few days and it's been nice to just stay inside and keep warm.

I've also been doing a fair bit of stamping lately too (and am trying to finish up a couple of Christmas gifts - seems to be a trend with me lately - just not getting things done soon enough!) so here are a couple of cards I made this past week:

The pot of flowers stamp is from GinaK's Happy Harvest Stamp set. I stamped it onto white card stock then colored it in with Copic Markers.

I used my Marvy Mega Scalloped Oval Punch to punch it out.

All the patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Stella Ruby 6x6 pack.

I punched out a giga scalloped oval from one of the papers to mat the main image.

The floral paper was torn then adhered to the yellowish paper (that I cut down to card size) then I used my mini sewing machine to stitch around the edges.

I finished off the card with a sentiment from GinaK's Punchy Words set (used my Stampin' Up! Word Window punch on the card base then stamped the sentiment inside it), some Prima flowers and ribbon.

For this card I used the other flower image from GinaK's Happy Harvest set - I stamped them several times on a piece of watercolor paper (with Brilliance Black ink) then watercolored them with my AquaPainter and Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

I roughed up the edges of the paper with an edge distresser then sponged Chocolate Chip (SU!) ink on the edges.

The patterned paper was from the same Stella Ruby pack - I sewed the patterned piece onto the Chocolate Chip card stock then roughed up and curled the edges.

The sentiment is from GinaK's Punchy Words set, I used a Rose Red and Chocolate Chip marker to ink it up, stamped it onto white CS then punched it out with my Marvy Extra Jumbo Scalloped Circle Punch and sponged the edges.

The ribbon is SU!'s wide Chocolate Chip grosgrain - I wanted more of it to show so I cut a notch in the watercolor paper to slide the ribbon through before tying it.

I finished off the card by adding some Making Memories vintage eyelets and that's it!

Penguins?? No DUCKS!

I've had the CC Designs Little Penguins stamp set sitting here on my desk for a couple of weeks now - and as I pulled them out of their case the other day Veronica took a look at them and started talking about the cute duckies - and I thought of COURSE! So the credit for all these cards goes to her!:

I stamped the little balloon penguin onto white card stock, colored him in with Copic markers, then masked him and stamped A Muse's Micro Oval BL (this is their smallest oval and is PERFECT for these little guys!) in celery ink for the ground.

I punched the main image out with my Marvy Mega Scalloped Oval Punch.

The sentiment is also by A Muse.

I used my Nestabilities Large Circle die to cut the circle out of the textured Soft Sky card stock (Stampin' Up!).

For this one I stamped both penguins AKA ducks onto white card stock, colored them in with Copic markers then masked them and stamped A Muse's Small Oval in pink ink.

I punched the main image out with my Marvy Mega Scalloped Heart punch and sponged the edges with Real Red (Stampin' up!) ink.

The heart-textured background was made with my CuttleBug and the Heart Blocks A2 embossing folder.

I finished off the card with a couple of pink heart brads (by Provo Craft - I got them at Michaels last year), some May Arts ribbon and the sentiment (from the Little Penguins set).

I had a few circles of card stock sitting on my desk and instead of tossing them I used them on this card.

I stamped the image onto white card stock, masked stamped the oval and colored him in with Copics then punched him out with SU!'s 1 3/8" Circle Punch.

The sentiment is by A Muse (one of my favorites).

I added some Primas and some May Arts ribbon and that was it!

So really this set has DOUBLE the versatility that I originally thought it did - b/c not only is it a year-round set but depending on how you color them they can be ducks or penguins or any other bird-type creature you come up with LOL! Gotta love it.....

 

An Elzybells Christmas

Here's another quick Elzybells card I finished - this time Veronica said the little girl looked like Josie - and I had to agree. When I first put up the tree I had a heck of a time keeping Josie away from it - every time my back was turned she kept flicking the ornaments (glass against glass makes a nice sound I guess *wry grin*) and pulling them off to give to me when I was doing other things LOL!! I think Veronica was thinking the same thing when she decreed who the girl looked like........

So yes this stamp will forever remind me of my little monkey (who seems to have finally learned NOT to touch the ornaments so YAY for that!! LOL!).

I colored in the image with Copic markers and used Spica glitter pens on the tree and ornament for some glitter.

The scalloped square was made with a Nestabilities die, and the scalloped edge on the pink card stock was made using Stampin' Up!'s 3/16" Corner Rounder punch.

The sentiment is also by Elzybells and the ribbon is May Arts.

HAPPY B-DAY!

Good morning everyone!

After I had made these cards <---click! with GinaK's Text Messages set I had a few people ask if I could make a masculine card with the set so here it is!

I stamped the cell phone and the happy b-day sentiment then colored them in with Copic markers and edged the white card stock with grey ink.

The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's 6x6 Periphery paper pack - I followed yet another sketch I made (are y'all getting sick of these yet??) for this card <---click! (the second card in that post).

I flipped the layout of this sketch to better work with this image.

And see Lauren?? I used more buttons!! I used mini glue dots to attach them and wrapped some hemp around the card before adhering the main image. I then did some paper piercing here and there on the card and that was it!

Winter Playtime

Here are a couple of fun wintery cards I made last night using images from CC Designs Winter Playtime stamp set.

I stamped Lucky onto white card stock and colored him in with Copic Markers then used some White Opal Liquid Pearls to make snow. I punched out the image with my Marvy Giga Scalloped Rectangle punch then stamped the sentiment (inking up half at a time).

I was given these snowflake embellishments months ago and they weren't in a package so I have no idea who makes them. They silver metal and lightweight and I attached this one with a Bazzill brad then added Liquid Pearls to it here and there.

The background was made with my CuttleBug and the Sledding embossing folder (perfect for this set of course!).

I then assembled the card and added some May Arts ribbon and it was done!

And here is the second card I made - this time using Lulu's image from the set (it makes me giggle that she's holding one of the snowman's arms LOL!).

I stamped the image then colored it in with Copic markers and added Liquid Pearls to her jacket. I punched out the image with my Marvy Mega Circle Punch and matted it with my Giga Scalloped circle punch.

This snowflake was the other style of ones that were given me - and I attached a jump ring (you can get them at Michael's in the jewelery section) to it to be able to attach it to the ribbon.

Quick Elzybells Card

Here's a quick card I made the other night using my new Elzybells stamps (I had pulled them out because I was POSITIVE I had bought the little ice skater girl stamp and realize I didn't! I'm still kicking myself for that b/c it was my favorite one!).

I stamped the Girl With Sleigh stamp onto white card stock then colored her in with Copic Markers (her hair had to be red - Veronica LOVES these stamps and is convinced that they are her and Josie so they need to be colored to look like them LOL!).

I added Liquid Applique to her outfit and the ground and poured on Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!) glitter before heating it to make it all puffy and glittery.

The sentiment is also by Elzybells (I LOVE the font they used - I wish I knew what it was).

You can't see it by I used my Copic Spica glitter pens on the image as well so this card is blingin'!! *grin*

I kept the rest of the card super-simple. I ran a piece of white card stock through my CuttleBug with the Snowflakes embossing folder, punched out holes in the main image to run the May Arts ribbon through and added 3 light blue eyelets and that was it!

Toilet Humor

Happy Monday!!

LOL

I'm still shocked that Christmas is only a week away! Thankfully I have all the shopping and whatnot done, but I still have a couple of gifts to finish and haven't wrapped a thing......hopefully I'll get it done before the actual day arrives! Anywho on to the cards:

I had originally planned on making these cards more masculine - but then I came across my 6x6 pack of Basic Grey Blush paper and HAD to use it.

I pulled out GinaK's Way To Go set (this set still cracks me up (no pun intended) - I think it's hilarious!!) to make these and just had fun.

For the first one I stamped the images onto white card stock, colored them in with Copic markers then cut them out. I cut a slit in the toilet image to insert the plunger LOL.

I used different papers from the Basic Grey pack to make up the card. I used my Stampin' Up! Ticket Corner punch on the corners of the main image, then attached buttons to each corner with mini glue dots.

I also sewed the patterned paper onto the card base with my Janome Mini sewing machine.

Now THIS card doesn't look like a whole lot at first glance - but it's got something going on that I've been thinking about ever since I first got this set!!

I haven't seen anyone else do a card like this but you never know - needless to say I haven't seen one and I think my idea is brilliant ROFL!

I scored a piece of the Basic Grey paper 1/2" from the edge. I attached 1 half of a Basic Grey magnetic snap (right where the button is) to the backside of the "door" then adhered a piece of white card stock to fully cover it.

The other half of the snap is between the patterned paper making up the "wall" (behind the toilet paper) and the black card stock mat.

I then attached the "door" with silver brads and made a handle with a button and some linen thread and viola! A bathroom stall door that opens!

It's a pretty fancy stall but it was fun nonetheless *wink*

I stamped the sign from the stamp set, colored it then cut it out and "hung" it on the door with linen thread.

The patterned paper was again sewed onto the card base with my sewing machine and I stamped the sentiment twice (only inking up half at a time) to get it above and below the door.

Those magnetic snaps keep the door closed and are so thin they're not very noticeable - 2 of them together are about 1/8" thick??

So I hope y'all enjoyed the toilet humor and I'm off to get some housecleaning done!

Papertrey's December Release

WooHoo! Papertrey released 3 1/2 new sets just NOW! :o)

And here are all the samples I've made so far with 2 of the sets - My Punny Valentine and Sweet Love.

I have to admit that my favorite set is My Punny Valentine - when I got to see a sneak peek of it a while ago I went nuts (no pun intended LOL) for it and couldn't wait to get my hands on it - I just think it's the cutest set ever!!

This first project was really quick and easy - I stamped the nuts onto one of Papertrey's Large Kraft Coffee bags with Palette Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna inks - then filled it with an assortment of nuts (I got a big bag of them at - where else - Costco - just last week).

The tag was made by using the same inks to ink up the squirrel, stamping him onto white card stock then stamping the sentiment over it with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then punched it out with my Marvy Mega Circle punch and matted it with a Giga Scalloped Circle punched out of Chocolate Chip CS.

I punched 2 small holes at the top of the tag and threaded some May Arts ribbon through that and tied it in a bow to finish it off.

For this card I used all the stamps that make up the sheep (LOVE the fact that they're all separate!) and stamped them onto Soft Sky card stock. I then went over the "body" with Liquid Applique and heated it to make it "fluffy".

I then stamped the grass along the bottom and took a pink Copic marker to his nose and ears.

The hearts stamped onto the green card stock are also from the My Punny Valentine set and then I stamped the sentiment along the bottom in black.

The flowers are Prima Press n' Petals (attached with jumbo brads from the Dollarama) and the ribbon is from Michaels.

This card uses stamps from the new Sweet Love set.

I used the outline label stamp to make custom "patterned paper" for the card base - stamping it in three different colors (Groovy Guava, Bashful Blue and Almost Amethyst Classic Inks from Stampin' Up!).

I then used some of the mini words from the set to stamp the centers of the labels - then sprayed the card stock with my Color Spritzer and Really Rust marker.

The large oval outline was stamped onto white card stock, then the sentiment was stamped in black and I used my oval nestabilities die to cut it out. The scalloped oval mat was made with another nestabilities die and after adhering the rest of the card (with Soft Sky ribbon from SU!) I attached the main image with 2 brads (by Bazzill).

The last sample I made was the nugget tin in the Sweet Love gallery - I will upload that here tomorrow - it's getting late!!
