While I was on the phone this afternoon with Lauren I was tidying up my desk (it seems the ONLY time my desk and studio get a decent tidying up is when I'm on the phone ROFL!!) and came across this scrap of patterned paper left over from the book I made the other night.
Since it was a big scrap I left it as is and incorporated it into this card using the newly-released Hot Stuff set from My Favorite Things (I LOVE this set - it's perfect for making cards and whatnot to send to fellow coffee/tea loves along with a gift card or packs of gourmet coffee etc. Speaking of that go see what Lauren made with this set here - isn't it adorable??)
Anywho - I used my new Copic markers (insert big grin here!) and just pulled colors from the patterned paper to use on the image. I didn't do any fancy shading or blending - just straight coloring - so far so good!! The image was stamped onto Bazzil Smoothies Coconut Swirl with Palette Hybrid Noir ink.
The light aqua CS and the pink CS base are both Bazzil (sorry I don't know the actual color names - the pink I know is from the Doodlebug Bazzil line. I really need to either make or buy some Bazzil swatches as I have NO idea as to which color is which!). The patterned paper is from this slab by DCWV.
The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of white CS that I trimmed to 1" wide then used my Stampin' Up! Key Tag Punch to Round the one end. I attached it to the card then added the Prima Silk Road flower (I just got a tin of them in a recent order and OMGosh are they ever pretty!!! I love 'em!!) with a K&Co Pearl Brad.
The wide pink ribbon is from SU! - I got a roll of it before they retired it and then rarely ever used it - it matched the colors perfectly tho so it came in handy!

For this card I did a little more experimenting with my Copics. I used lighter and darker shades of the different colors and blended them together - I know I need a lot more practice but I still like how this turned out!
This image and sentiment are from the MFT Hare for the Holidays stamp set - again I stamped the image in Palette Hybrid Noir ink onto Bazzil Smoothies Coconut Swirl CS. The Aqua and Pink CS's are also Bazzil, while the orange is Pumpkin Pie CS from Stampin' Up!
I used the polka dot stamp from the MFT Behind the Scenes set with Mango VersaMagic ink to make the dotted paper, added some ribbon (from Michaels), a matching Bazzil Flower attached with a sparkly Making Memories Brad and that was it!
