I HAD to make this card today - after the past couple of days I really needed some cheering up!! I have a HUGE To-Do list for this weekend, and in the process of trying to get everything done I discovered that there is something wrong w/ our water softener and it leaked into the closet that's in the corner of my studio (which is in our partially finished basement). What makes it even more frustrating is that I had *just* spent over 2 hours organizing the closet, and as I got to the stuff on the floor (nothing valuable thank goodness - mostly extra boxes and whatnot) I saw the mold and freaked out!!!
So we've had to tear out the carpet in the closet, toss the shelving unit that was in there, and are now in the process of ripping out parts of the walls to assess the damage and remove anything that is even *slightly* damp (and thankfully the damage isn't TOO bad). I was up till 3 am this morning trying to get things done and am SO tired...
I am now VERY behind on everything (those that have sent me e-mails in the past few days please understand that it's going to take me a while to answer them!!), and my studio is now a complete mess as everything is piled up all over the place!!
SO - back to this card. Like I said I HAD to make it. Now that I did and it turned out kinda cute I can move on to the much more pressing issues at hand (and yes I wonder at my priorities as well ROFL!!).
I used my new javabellas stamp from Stamping Bella - isn't it just adorable?? I stamped them in black, then stamped the a*muse large oval to ground them (and I didn't need to mask anything so it was quick and easy). I then colored them in using Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, and blending stumps.
The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up!s new Au Chocolat paper that's in the Spring Mini (this is ALL I've been able to do w/ me pre-order that showed up yesterday - WAH!!!). I ran it through my CuttleBug using the Big Impressions Starter Kit, and the Circle Cyclone Texture Plate. Now these give more of a textured look instead of the deeply embossed feel the CuttleBug folders make. I gotta say I like 'em!! (and I'll post in more detail hopefully later this coming week about these!). FYI I got them from All That Scraps - after searching everywhere for them (and for a place that would ship to Canada fora decent price) I found them here and snapped them up!
The sentiment is also from a*muse, and after stamping it I made it into a ribbon slider by rounding the corners and punching holes in each end w/ the horizontal slot punch. I then slid it onto this FAB ribbon I picked up at Michaels last time I was there - I LOVE this ribbon!
The two jumbo brads I used I got at the Dollarama months ago - they match the chocolat paper perfectly!
This is a 5.25x5.25" square card.
I now have to run and go make lunch - have a great weekend everyone!!
