After I made my chipboard coaster box I made a sort of "resolution" to attempt to use up ALL the remaining paper I had left from the Spring Flowers Designer Series Paper pack.
You see, I have this little issue where I buy the packs of paper when they are released in the Stampin' Up! mini catalogs (or in the big catty in July), love them sooooo much when they are new, then promptly get sick of them and let them gather dust!! And I'm *sure* that NO one out there suffers from the same problem *wink*.
So the other night I made several cards in one sitting using only the paper from the Spring Flowers collection and CS, ink and accessories that matched. Here are a few that I came up with:
STAMPS: Monogram B, Friend to Friend, Looks Like Spring. CS: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss, Whisper White, Spring Flowers DS Paper. INK: VersaMark, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral. ACCESSORIES: Chocolate and Moss Grosgrain Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Tag Corner Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, 1/16" Hand-held Circle Punch, Sponge Daubers.
This was the first one I made - and it was actually pretty simple and quick. I embossed the "T" w/ clear embossing powder (just like on these other Monogram cards in this post) and cut it out.
The "Thank You" is from the Friend to Friend stamp set (that I actually just got not too long ago for free b/c of my quarterly sales w/ SU - gotta love free!! LOL) and I used the Word Window Punch and some string to tie it onto the letter before adhering it.
STAMPS: Delight in Life. CS: Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Spring Flowers Designer Series Paper. INK: Basic Black, So Saffron, Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Whisper White. ACCESSORIES: On Board Accents, Apricot Grosgrain, Saffron Brads, Sanding Block.
I covered the chipboard flower w/ the patterned paper - you just lay the shape flat on the paper, trace it w/ a pencil, cut it out, then adhere it to the chipboard (I used Mod Podge but a glue stick would also work if you applied it evenly). I then sanded the edges to soften them.
I applied Whisper White Craft ink to the edges of the Cameo Coral card base as it was MUCH too dark to match well w/ the patterned paper (the Cameo Coral in the Spring Flowers paper is more of a match to the Classic Ink *after* it's been stamped off once).
STAMPS: Like it a Latte. CS: Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Spring Flowers DS Paper. INK: VersaMark. ACCESSORIES: Olive EP, White EP, White Gel Pen, Small and Large Oval Punches, Ticket Corner Punch, Cutter Kit, Moss Grosgrain Ribbon, White Eyelets, dimensionals.
Out of all the cards I made - this is the one I like the least. It's just TOO busy and funky looking and I don't like it at all!! I thought I'd share it nonetheless. I had a "green tea" image in my mind when I made this - hence the cup that I embossed w/ the Olive embossing powder from the Earth Elements embossing stack.
The sentiment and the steam were embossed in white.
More to share tomorrow!! :o)
