I just got SU's Peaceful Wishes and Many Merry Messages set (along w/ the Light Table and a couple other goodies as a b-day gift from Tim).
I really didn't like Peaceful Wishes when I first saw it - it didn't appeal to me at all. But then I started seeing TONS of gorgeous samples w/ it and a lot of them were non-Christmas card samples too - that's what sold me. I like it when sets are versatile. I did a One Sheet Wonder (as promised!) w/ these sets (I also used Lovely As a Tree - another awesome set that I think everybody should own!!) and made 8 Christmas cards.
I think next on my list I'm gonna do another OSW w/ Peaceful wishes but make NON-Christmas cards (next meaning at the bottom of the list I have of all the stamping things I want to get done LOL!!).
So anywho I started w/ this:
(sorry the pic isn't great I took this at night!). I stamped all the images (except the sentiment) form Peaceful Wishes onto an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of Very Vanilla CS. Some of the images were also stamped off once before stamping on the CS and I even used markers on the 2 stamps that have the berries so they would look pretty! I also stamped Happy Holidays from Warmest Regards randomly and then pulled out my trusty Color Spritzer and Markers to get a nice textured look.
Now this is only my second OSW (seriously!! The first one I ever did is here) and I didn't follow a template. I just cut it up as I went along. I stuck w /one color combo (Real Red, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke, Choc Chip and Very Vanilla as my neutral - makes for a very Christmassy combo) throughout and didn't go all out w/ accessories and layers as I plan to use them as (some) of my x-mas cards and don't want to have to add extra postage to all of 'em!
So these are the 8 cards I came up with:
For accessories I used Red Gingham and Olive Organdy, Dazzling Diamond Glitter (I put that on *every* one - it added a nice bit of "bling" w/out bulk), Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Glassy Glaze EP, and the Ticket and Tag Corner Punches.
I prolly could have got them all done in one sitting but I only had a bit of time here and there over the past couple of days to actually make them.
