I wanted to get this done so I could hang it in the kitchen over the sink before I have to make the winter one!! (It didn't turn out how I wanted it to but I didn't want to keep fiddling w/ it b/c it's not going to be up for long w/ the weather we've been having!!)
I made a Summer name frame (picture will be at the bottom) a few months ago to hang over the kitchen sink b/c I *hate* how the sink faces a wall and there's NOTHING to look at!! So now I have a little art that changes w/ the seasons! :o)
BTW you can click on the pictures and they will pop up in a separate window as a larger image so you can get a closer look.
I stamped the letters (Headline alpha) using craft inks on Whisper White CS. I got the multi-colored look by first inking them up in one color then rocking the edges here and there in 2 different colors. After they were dry I cut them out w/ my paper snips and mounted them on the CS.
The BG is a piece from SU's Weathered Collection of Designer Series Papers. I thought the wood grain would be fitting for a Fall frame!
The flowers and leaves are from Prima - I LOVE the leaves - they are really nice and were just perfect for something like this.
I used my retired Fantastic Foliage set and classic inks on the BG - inking them up w/ one color and rocking the stamp in another color or two to make them look a little more realistic. I then stamped one of the leaves on Old Olive CS and embossed w/ Olive EP (from the EE embossing stack) and cut it out.
Added some buttons (all SU) and ribbon (some SU some from Michaels) and that was it!! I did it all in one sitting the other night b/c I wanted to get it done NOW before it snows LOL!!
Here is the one I had made for summer:
The BG paper is from Chatterbox. The large flowers are from a Prima Daisy Rack. The buttons are from sei. Ribbon is SU.
I got these frames at WalMart at least 6 months ago. The opening is 6" x 12" and they were like $4.50 Canadian. I don't know if they even carry these ones anymore - I'll have to check next time I'm there and pick up a few if they do as they're great for gifts!
