Friday Sketch! #21

Gkd_comfort_peace_card_2_by_amyrOMG is it just me or has this month FLOWN by??? I can't believe that June is nearly over....it's almost midnight right now and I need to get this post typed up quick - I have a dentist appointment in the city tomorrow morning (thank goodness I'm nearly done with all these appointments!!) so I need to get to bed!!

For today's sketch I pulled out GinaK's Comfort & Peace stamp set (once a free with 3 set - now you can get it here) and made a few sympathy cards all using the same layout.

I used my SU! markers to ink up the main image and stamped it onto an oval (that I already cut with my Nestabilities die) made from Papertrey Vintage Cream CS (yup it's already become my go-to CS when I don't want to use white).

I used my Copic airbrush and a yellow Copic marker to get the "glow" around the flowers (it's softer than sponging - and I generally tend to smudge things when I use sponges!! *wink*).

The patterned paper is from Basic Gray's Sugared 6x6 pack (all the cards use various papers from this pack), and the ribbon is May Arts. The sentiments are from the same stamp set, and I stamped other sentiments from the set on the inside of each card.

Friday Sketch! #20

Secret_sister_card_5_by_amyr I completely forgot to plan ahead for this week's sketch - this morning I am in the city for yet another dentist appointment (more fillings which are fine as they are fabulous at my dentist and I don't feel a thing!! It's just funny when I go do errands afterward and my face is all swollen and I talk funny LOL....).

Anyway tho I had another "secret sister" card saved on my computer and like this layout so I thought why not make a sketch from that? :o)

Again this card uses Garden Silhouettes by SU (retired) and Papertrey's Simple Alphabet and Women of Life stamp sets for the sentiment.

I used Star Dust Stickles on the main image for a little added bling (simple yet effective!), along with more patterned paper from SU!'s Ginger Blossom paper pack (I've had this paper for MONTHS and have been hoarding it (as usual) till just recently).

The sentiment was punched out with a scalloped marvy punch, and the ribbon (both the wide Rose grosgrain and the moss taffeta) are also from SU!.

Friday Sketch! #19

Amyrs27Here's the sketch real quick for now. I'll be back later today to edit this post and add my samples. My headache lasted most of the day and finally went away in the late afternoon then came back after my *wonderful* neighbor thought it'd be fun to rev the engine of something for over 1/2 an hour so loudly that the noise brought it all back!!!

Anywho the keyword for this sketch is AMYRS27 - can't wait to see what y'all do with it!

Later!!

...................................................................................................................................................

OK it's later (lots later than I planned) but here's a couple of samples for y'all!!

Ccd_whoo_loves_you_by_amyr Sorry my pics aren't that great - this week has been insane for me and now that it's almost over it seems like everything that can go wrong IS!!! So I don't have time to re-take the pics but I hope y'all like them anyway!

Both samples were made with CC Designs A Hootin' Good Time stamp set (yup OWLS!! This set is adorable me thinks....) and all the supplies for both cards can be seen here (scroll past all the fabulous samples - which were also made with the same supplies - to see the actual paper and brads and whatnot).

I used Copic markers to color in the images, pieced together my cards and that was it!

Ccd_youre_a_hoot_by_amyr

Have a fabulous weekend everyone and I am going now to pray that it gets here QUICKLY!!!!

Friday Sketch! #18

I know I'm a day late - sorry!! I also know that it's the long weekend in the US so I don't expect anyone to play along with this sketch but thought I'd post it anyway - so here it is:

Ccd_hey_chicky_fave_peep_by_amyr I used CC Designs Hey Chicky stamp set - stamped the chick then colored her in with Copic markers (the one I used to outline is the Cool Shadow BG10 marker - I use that one a lot).

The sentiment is from A Muse (too perfect for this set!).

The patterned paper (which inspired the colors of my card) is Autumn Leaves MOD paper - the Primary collection (I LOVE this paper - it is SO bright and cheerful - perfect for summer!).

I added some Prima Esprites and used black glitter dots for the flower centers (attached with mini glue dots) and that was it - easy peasy!!

Bonus Sketch!

Gkd_owl_alsways_love_you_by_amyr I was asked to be a guest hostess over on Splitcoast this week for the Sketch Challenge so I made up a sketch and a sample and here it is!

I used GinaK's Owl Always Love You stamp set - stamped them with Brilliance Graphite Black ink then colored them in with Copic Markers. I went over their bodies with my quickie glue pen and covered them with carmel latte tan fun flock - check out how fuzzy they are LOL!!:

Gkd_owl_alsways_love_you_closeup_byThe baubles are from Stamping Bella and the ribbon I got some time ago from Michaels (I KNOW isn't it fabulous?? I wish I had bought more of it b/c I haven't seen it there since!)

Here is the sketch: Sc176

You can check out the challenge thread I'm hostessing over on SCS here.

The keywords for this one if you decide to play along and upload your card to a public gallery is SC176.

Friday Sketch! #17

Tcp_howdy_kitty_by_amyrHowdy!

Here's the layout for Friday and I hope y'all can play along!

Like the card I posted yesterday this one uses The Cat's Pajamas clear and swanky It's a Western Thing stamp set and patterned paper from daisyd's Autumn collection.

I stamped the kitty onto white cardstock and used my Copic markers to color her in.

The sentiment is stamped onto a punched out giga circle that I punched from one of the more solid colored patterned papers.

The black strip isn't paper but rather grosgrain ribbon I attached with sticky strip adhesive.

The stitched ribbon is from Michaels.

It's insanely early right now and I need to get to bed as I'm heading for the city (over an hour away) tomorrow morning with Veronica b/c we both have dentist appointments and I am DREADING them both. I am going to need a ton of work done and Veronica might need to have a tooth pulled and I am trying to be brave for her! WAH! I hate dentist appointments........

Friday Sketch! #16

Wow it's hard to believe I'm on #16 already! I have really been enjoying coming up with these sketches for y'all and enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with when using them! :o)

So here's the one for this week!:

Pt_its_a_celebration_card_2_by_amyr This is another of my "catch up" cards from last month's Papertrey release - tomorrow I'll post 2 more cards I made with this set and color combo :o)

I used the It's a Celebration set and stamped the banners onto the one panel, then added the word "happy" to it using the Simple Alphabet.

After stamping the gift I added the word birthday with the alphabet set.

The polka dots were stamped with Chocolate Chip ink (Polka Dot Basics set) onto the Blush cardstock then I added the ribbon.

STAMPS: It's a Celebration, Polka Dot Basics and Simple Alphabet by Papertrey Ink.

CS: Stamper's Select White, Sweet Blush, SU! Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip.

INK: Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, SU! Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip.

ACCESSORIES: Brads, Dimensionals, Ribbon.

Friday Sketch! #15

Gkd_golfing_happy_birthday_by_amyr Happy Friday everyone!

This has to be another quick post as I have some things that need taking care of and errands to do and whatnot and FYI it is STILL SNOWING here!!! AURGH!!!!!!

Anyway here is Friday's Sketch! I kept it simple (well they seem to always be pretty simple I think) and used one of the new GinaK Designs stamp sets: Rupa's King of the Grill stamp set.

I also used my new Basic Grey 6x6 Boxer paper (LOVE this paper - it is ALL manly colors and patterns - it's fabulous!) and paper-pieced part of the bag.

Copic markers were used to color the bag in, and I stamped the golf clubs onto the creamy patterned paper with Navy colored ink.

I also used my Crop-a-dile and punched several holes along the side and added some Making Memories vintage eyelets.

Also this week the All That Scraps Design Team played along so check the All That Scraps blog later today as I will be posting my sample along with all the samples they made too!!

Friday Sketch! #14

Ccd_iyb_all_about_the_presents_by_2 Eep! Sorry! I totally forgot about the sketch today (heck I pretty much forgot it was Friday - it's been one of THOSE days.......)

Anywho I had this card in my files and made up a sketch to go with it so I hope y'all like it!

This card uses CC Designs new It's My Birthday set (and I KNOW I'm not the only one who's totally in love with this set - it's just too adorable for words) - I stamped Lucky onto white cardstock and colored him in with Copic markers.

The sentiment is from the same set - I punched it out with Stampin' Up!'s Key Tag punch and matted a punched circle behind it.

The ribbon is by American Crafts (I got a couple different kinds from a store around a year or so ago and have been hoarding it ever since b/c it's so nice and I only bought about a yard each b/c it wasn't cheap!) - I punched holes through the cardstock and tied each piece onto it.

The patterned paper is by Autumn Leaves - their Techno Pop line.

Amyrs22OK here is the sketch:

Friday Sketch! #13

Ccd_beautiful_butterflies_sketch_1_OK I only have a few minutes to get this typed up. The girls are in bed and Tim and I are going to watch a movie together.

Here's Friday's sketch!

I used CC Designs new Beautiful Butterflies stamp set - I LOVE this set! The style is so different from every other butterfly stamp I own.

I stamped the image then colored it with Copic markers, then filled in the wings and head with Star Dust Stickles.

The patterned paper is by Autumn Leaves called Techno Pop (watch for a BUNCH more samples with this paper - I went a little crazy over the past couple of days and ALL of the cards I've been making use it LOL!)

The baubles are from Stamping Bella.

Amyrs21So here's the actual sketch (I was fiddling around with Photoshop and figured out how to add the flower - I AM very impressed with myself *wink*):
