Well let's see if I can get some posts up on a regular schedule for a few days eh? I got busy with dreaded yardwork over the weekend (we made a *small* dint in the work needed - so frustrating - but at least I'm *doing* something - b/c I really hate yardwork LOL!), then it started raining yesterday and still is today. So I should be able to get *some* stamping done :o)
If you missed the first two cards in the series you can see them here:
For today's card I wanted to use my MFT Sheltering Tree and Leaf Trio dies and decided to keep the rest of the card super clean and simple to focus on the tree:

*sorry folks this was supposed to go live earlier but I had some issues with uploading and had to head to work before I could get everything posted!*
So - in case you missed the memo I started the Father's Day Card Series yesterday (I know some people rely on their YouTube homepage and subscriptions to notify them of new videos but YT can be finicky and more often than not misses a lot of new content!).
It's hard to get back into doing another series - but once I get going the ideas usually start flowing ;) And I need this one to get going quickly b/c Father's Day is less than a month away!
So on to card #1:
To see how I made this card check out the following video:
The star and arrow punches were from Stampin' Up! (discontinued - sorry!)
Spellbinders Die - discontinued (I think it was part of the "Labels" pack? Sorry I don't have the name of it and I can't even find them on the site anymore :()
First off if you missed any of the previous Mother's Day posts you can find them all here (YouTube has changed some things around lately and people aren't seeing the latest videos in their subscription feed like they should!):
So today's card is one I made for MY mom for Mother's Day. Like I say in the video she's never online (computers really aren't her "thing") so I don't have to worry about her seeing this before I give it to her.

I know Mother's Day is coming up right quick - but I needed to get a couple more cards done!
I wanted to have them done and posted earlier but I was starting to feel burnt-out in the creative department and the more I force it the worse it gets. I'll find myself just sitting at my desk with brain freeze and not able to come up with a single decent idea.
That's when I know it time to step away for a bit (in my case I basically took a weekend "off" from doing any stamping - not to say that I didn't *try* to - but it just wasn't working for me) and then come back with a fresh perspective and some new ideas brewing.
It doesn't help that my OCD causes "issues" - I don't technically "have" OCD (as in it's not doctor-diagnosed or anything) but it's there. I have a REALLY hard time jumping to a new project before another one is finished. And having more than one card/project on the go at a time almost never happens.
It just bugs me ;)
So even tho I may have a million ideas brewing for new cards/videos/techniques/etc it's pretty darn difficult to find the TIME to execute them and not drive myself batty jumping from one thing to another and back again!
SO - all that said I *need* to finish off this Mother's Day series before I can get on with the next one (Father's Day!).
And I am going to try reallyreallyREALLY hard to start up some "on-going series" - Birthday, Thank You, Sympathy, Baby etc etc. Since those are needed at any time and aren't for a specific occasion.
We'll see what happens ;)
Anywho - back to the Mother's Day cards. If you missed any of the previous ones you can check them out here:
Today's card is another sentiment-only type of card. I also used some flower and leaf dies to make my own embellishments b/c not everyone has a nearly unlimited lifetime supply of Prima flowers like this crazy person *grin*. You can totally make your own with a flower-shaped die/punch some cardstock and a little bit of spongng (the sponging is what really makes it look good!).

If you guys have been watching my videos regularily you'll recognize this stamp set as I've used it in a few different videos :). I find it a bit of a pain to ink up with Memento (aka any water-based inks) inks as it's a vinyl set (opposed to photo-polymer) so the inks tends to "bead" on it - but the images are SO cute and I just love them so I suck it up and use it anyway ;)
I could have used Brilliance ink and heat set it but as always I am in a hurry and don't have the time for that - so I made do!
Anywho here's the card:

Stampin' Up! Blush Blossom ink and cardstock (discontinued)
Sorry it's taken me so long to get this post and video up! We upgraded our internet last week to a "faster, better" service which meant a new modem and whatnot and it turned into a few issues for me with how I have things networked between my old computer and new one (I've been using both as I have different programs on each that I use for different things - my old one is a PC and the new one is a Mac). So I struggled with that for a couple of days and got NOWHERE.
I am NOT computer-literate - contrary to what everyone else seems to think! I always get friends and family asking *me* to fix their computer issues - and I honesly just fiddle around trying to figure things out - when I usually don't have a clue LOL!
I finally gave up for a few days b/c #1 it was giving me a headache and #2 with work and everything else I couldn't keep wasting TIME to try and fix everything.
So now I'm doing things a bit differently (which none of y'all will notice as it's all on my end - everything else will stay the same) and can get back to posting hopefully regularily!
Anywho that's why it's been so quiet on here and on my Facebook page. But now I'm back *grin*.
If you missed any of the previous posts you can find them all here:
Today's card is yet another "out of the box" card for me - NO patterned paper and NO layering (well technically "no" layering - watch the video and you'll see why it ended up with ONE layer).
I was inspired by all the artwork my kids always give me - whether it's for Mother's Day or "just because":

For today's card I pulled out one of my Rubber Romance stamps - I've had them for YEARS and years and it's been a long time since I've inked them up. I really like this line tho as it's different from all the other types of images I have (which is mostly cutesy - nothing wrong with that but I do like variety).
To see how I made this card check out the following video:
The rose stamp I used is from a retired Stampin' Up! set called Fifth Avenue Floral that I've had for years now. So it's no longer available to purchase (unless you're lucky enough to find it on a buy/sell/trade board or want to pay e-bay's ridiculously overpriced bids) - BUT there are all sorts of outline floral images out there that will work too.
**ETA - apparently I just haven't looked hard enough - I've been told the set *IS* still available from SU but that it will be retiring at the end of May (2012). I searched for it on the SU site but couldn't find it so I assumed it was retired! Sorry!**
I added a couple of different Hero Arts images that caught my eye that would work, and I know there's more from other companies out there that have something similar.
Ahhhh I had meant to have this uploaded *much* earlier today - but instead I had a nap LOL! I've had most of this week off (it's Easter break for my kids so no school all week - so I took time off to spend more time with them) and this morning I got up super early.
So by early afternoon I was beat and snuck in a nap rather than edit videos and type up posts. And it's prolly the last nap I'm gonna get for a really long time since I'm back to work after the weekend and have a bajillion things to do (as usual). So I thoroughly enjoyed the nap..... :D
ANYWHO - if you missed any of my previous Spring/Easter cards you can find them all at the following links:
I hope y'all are having a good weekend so far! I already feel like I'm ahead just by having Friday off - I got a TON of laundry done, made a couple cards/filmed a couple videos, finished reading the second Stephanie Plum novel (by Janet Evanovich - haven't seen the movie yet but will prolly wait 'till it comes out to rent - I'm in no rush for it), watched the newest Chipmunks movie with my kids (ugh - but they *really* enjoy them so that makes it worth it LOL!), squeezed in a workout after the girls went to bed and am now getting this post up before heading to bed myself!
And I still have some days off to get more things done - so definitely feeling GOOD!
As always if you missed any of the previous posts you can find them all here:
Obviously with Easter being THIS weekend the time to make more Easter cards has passed. So now I'm switching over to more "Spring" themed cards.
Although today's card could have definitely been Easter - I was going to use an Easter sentiment but changed my mind and kept it more generic and added a spring sentiment to the inside:
