Ribbon Blog Candy Winner

I used random.org and sifted through all 600+ comments (WOW!!) - the winner has been posted at the end of the Blog Candy post <-----click!

BLOG CANDY!!!

So - I've been organizing and going through all my stamping stuff and a couple of nights ago I went through ALL my ribbon and organized it. As I was doing so I realized I have a lot of "duplicate" ribbon - as in ribbons that I have rolls of I also had wrapped on clothespins with all the other loose ribbon I've purchased over the years.

So I took all this "extra" ribbon and piled it up on my desk.......wanna see???

Ribbon Blog Candy

That's right - there was well over 200 feet of ribbon - and it's NICE ribbon too. There's a ton of May Arts and Stampin' Up! ribbon in there along with miscellaneous ribbons.............it looks so pretty doesn't it??

Would you like to have it? Leave a comment on this post, and better yet forward this on to a friend or two so they can get in on it too. I'll pick a random number on Wednesday (the 11th) evening that will win ALL of this ribbon!!

The Blog Candy Contest is now closed.

I used random.org to pick a random number which was:

Ribbon candy winning number

Which means the winner is:

Sneak Peek! - AmyR Stamps Warm & Cozy Set - and BLOG CANDY

Well if you've already visited here today this will be the second sneak peek for y'all - the first one is in the Friday Sketch post below :o)

*NOTE - this is post #3 for today so be sure to scroll down!! This will also be kept at the top of my blog until Monday afternoon so all new posts will be below this one :o)*

AmyR Stamps Warm and Cozy Coat Card by AmyR

Alrighty here is my official sneak peek post for my new Warm & Cozy stamp set that will be released on Monday Feb. 2nd at All That Scraps!

AmyR Stamps Warm and Cozy Coat Card Closeup by AmyR This pea coat image is something that has been requested ever since I released my Amy's Boutique set - and that set, the Wardrobe set and the Wedding set all co-ordinate with each other.

The wire hanger stamp is from the Wardrobe set - I stamped the coat onto white cardstock then masked the collar before stamping the hanger - easy-peasy!

I added a mini brad to the hanger to make it look like it was hanging from something.

AmyR Stamps Warm and Cozy Coat Card Copics by AmyR I used Copics to color in the coat (the darker one was scribbled on to a piece of plastic and I picked up the color with the lighter one to color in the pockets and collar).

I had set the mask I made aside along with the piece I cut out from it - I re-applied both parts (this was before I had the mini brad in place!) and stippled on some blue Palette ink then sponged the edges with ColorBox chalk ink.

AmyR Stamps Warm and Cozy Coat Card Inside by AmyR The sentiment is from the Warm & Cozy set - it's 2 separate stamps so I just stamped one over the other then punched them out with an oval punch before sponging the edges and adhering it to the card.

The inside was kept simple - I just lined it with patterned paper (both patterned papers used on this card are from the MME Irresistible collection) then die cut an oval and scalloped oval mat with my nestabilities dies.

{SUPPLIES}

STAMPS: AmyR Stamps Warm & Cozy Set.

CS: White, Prism Red, Prism Tawny Light, MME Irresistible patterned paper.

INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Blue, Colorbox Chalk Taupe, Copic Markers.

ACCESSORIES: Nestabilitie Dies, Ribbon, Mini Brads, Sewing Machine, Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers.

Sneak Peek - AmyR Stamps Wardrobe and Wardrobe Sentiments - AND BLOG CANDY!

Amyr_stamps_wardrobe_sneak_peek_car Here's a little sneaky peeky of the two sets I'm releasing on Monday - Wardrobe and Wardrobe Sentiments :o) If you loved Amy's Boutique and Boutique Sentiments then you're gonna LOVE these next two sets!!

I pulled out my Urban Prairie 6x6 pack for this card - I just love the colors and patterns in this pack - and isn't that little bee just adorable??

I stamped the onesie from the new Wardrobe set onto the 3 different papers (with the bee one I made sure it was stamped so that the bee was more centered) and cut them out. I used a Copic marker to color in the neck and bottom.

Amyr_stamps_wardrobe_sneak_peek_c_2 I included a wire hanger image with this set - which I stamped three times then added red BG brads to make it look like each hanger was hanging from the brads. I then attached the onesies with dimensionals.

I used my Making Memories Ribbon Slot punch to make a hole for the May Arts ribbon.

The sentiment is from Wardrobe Sentiments - I stamped it onto a scrap of cardstock, trimmed it then used a circle punch to round one end before attaching it to the card. I then added an Urban Prairie button with some black embroidery floss.

Amyr_stamps_wardrobe_sneak_peek_c_3 I kept the inside simple - just attached some white cardstock, then a strip of the same patterned paper I used on the front (effectively using up that 6x6 sheet that would have otherwise been tossed in the garbage) and then I added a tiny strip of red Basic Grey paper that I had sitting out on my desk from another paper pack and another project.

..........................................................................................................................................

Now for the BLOG CANDY!! I have one each of Wardrobe and Wardrobe Sentiments to give away to one lucky commenter on this post. Leave a comment (only one per person please!) and on Monday night at 8pm EST I will use Random.org to pick the winner!!

..........................................................................................................................................

My new sets will be released at 10pm EST Monday November 24th over on All That Scraps.

I have more info about my stamps here (recommending different acrylic blocks to use and whatnot) and here (picture of how they come and what best tools to use to cut them out plus a few answers to questions).

Also don't forget to check out the ATS blog today as there are more samples made by the Design Team using my new sets!!

Winner!!

Thank you everyone for sharing your memorable birthday stories - I haven't read every single one yet but I'm going to!! I always like to read every comment I get and ones like this are definitely no exception!

I plugged in the numbers at random.org to find me the winner and this is what it came up with:

Birthday_blog_candy_winner_2

so that means the winner is TINA!!:

Winning_blog_candy_comment_2

Tina please e-mail me your mailing address to amyrysavyAThotmailDOTcom (replace AT and DOT with @ and . - only way to prevent me getting a ton of spam mail is to type it out this way) and I will have the sets sent out to you ASAP!!

..............................................................................................................................

FYI I did get to go to the city yesterday - Tim's parents babysat while we went in and did a little shopping and saw a movie (Eagle Eye - it was really good!).

I went to Payless and got THE cutest shoes ever:

Ae_pink_wedge_shoes Aren't they fabulous!!!! As soon as I saw them I had to try them on - last pair in the store and they were my size!! And yes totally pink - I got the black pair just like it b/c they had a good sale going on.

Here's a link to the shoes on the site (just because I always get asked *wink*):

American Eagle Karter Wedge

Birthday Card and Blog Candy :)

I hate to say it but I'm in a rather depressed mood. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I spent all morning cleaning the house and still have more to do. That and the fact that even tho tomorrow is my birthday (I'll be a whopping 25 years old! *wink*) there are no plans to do anything. However I'm not going to sit and pout - too much to do!! I have this card to share and some birthday blog candy to give away and it's going to be fun!! :o)

Amyr_stamps_happy_birthday_dress_caI made this card using my Amy's Boutique and Boutique Sentiments stamps, and patterned paper from Basic Grey's Ambrosia collection. I got the 6x6 pack and this is the first time I've cut into it. I know I gush about pretty much all the papers I use (I wouldn't be using them in the first place if I didn't LOVE them!!) but I really do love this colleciton. The colors and the patterns are just fabulous - they're so elegant yet funky and offbeat. You all will definitely be seeing more creations in the future from me using these papers!

Amyr_stamps_happy_birthday_dress__2Anywho, I stamped the dress onto the paper, cut it out then instead of paper piecing the band I wrapped it with embroidery thread and tied it in a bow.

I attached the dress to the grey paper with dimensionals and pierced each corner.

This card looks a lot busier than it really is b/c of the different patterns - when really it's a basic layout and not a whole lot of embellishments.

I added a piece of wide May Arts ribbon, then tied on some SU! grey taffeta ribbon.

To finish off the card I added some jumbo orange brads, the sentiment (punched out with SU!'s Word Window punch) attached with a mini grey brad, and a bit of paper piercing and that was it!

...................................................................................................................................

Now on to the blog candy!!

I want you all to tell me what your MOST memorable birthday experience was.

Mine was my 17th - I was working that day (KFC LOL!) and Tim and I had been dating for only a few months, and he was 3 hours away going to school. I wasn't sure when I'd be seeing him again - definitely not on my birthday. I remember I was out front cleaning and my boss called me back in "that" voice (the one where you know you're in trouble!) and told me to go to her office. She followed behind me and shut me in by myself. I turned around and Tim was there with a box of gifts for me and a goofy grin on his face.

I'll never forget that day. He surprised me so bad I nearly fell over I was so shocked!! And him driving all the way there just to see me on my day meant a lot. It's prolly cheesy but it really was my best birthday ever!

So now it's your turn. Share your thoughts and I will be picking a random commenter via random.org that will win both my Amy's Boutique and Boutique Sentiments stamp sets either later tomorrow night or on Monday morning (still holding out hope that I'll get to do something tomorrow!) - so you have till then to comment and possibly win!!

Only one comment per person please - multiple comments by the same person will be deleted.

WINNER!!!!

WOW!! There were 450 comments on my "I Finally Did It!!!!" post - I am awed and so pleased with all the congrats and well-wishes from all of you. I read every single comment (I read every comment I get regardless that I get on my blog!) and they all meant so much to me! Thank you!!!

So random.org spit out a number for me:

Winner_of_amys_boutique_and_boutiqu

Can you see that? When I sniped it from the webpage the file is teeny so it's rather blurry - but it says #300 - soooo I counted down through all the comments (took a while!!) and found #300:

Winning_comment_charlene_h_3

CONGRATS Charlene H!!! You will be receiving both Amy's Boutique and Boutique Sentiments for Free! Please e-mail me (amyrysavyAThotmailDOTcom ---- I have to type it that way otherwise I get a bunch of spammers e-mailing me - just substitute the @ and . in the right spots) your mailing info and I get the stamps sent out to you ASAP!

...........................................................................................................................

Don't forget the release party is TOMORROW (I had the times and whatnot screwed up earlier but they've been edited and it's all good now) Sept 9 at 8pm EST on the ATS forum and the stamps are being released at 10pm EST tomorrow Sept 9th!! *bouncin*

I'm headed off to bed - still having back issues and it's making it really hard to sit for any length of time. Good night everyone!

Quick Reminder

Just wanted to let y'all know that I will be drawing the name from my "I Finally Did It!!" <----click!! post tonight at 10pm EST via random.org. The winner will receive both my Amy's Boutique and Boutique Sentiments stamp sets!!

Also only one comment per person on that post to make it fair for everyone! Good luck! *grin*

Thanks a Latte and some CANDY!!

A_muse_coffee_notecards_by_amyr I FINALLY got the chance to sit down and play with my new A Muse Coffee Break set - it's a clear mini set and oh-so-cute.

I decided to pull out some more of their new 4-Band Kitchen note cards (this time brown and red ones) and made a set of 6 thank you cards - I'm going to include them with the other things I got for my Mom for Christmas (she doesn't have a computer so I don't need to worry about her ever seeing this!).

My mom is a MAJOR coffee buff so I thought these would be rather fitting *wink*

I stamped the images onto Very Vanilla (Stampin' Up!) card stock then colored them in with Stampin' Up! markers (Ruby Red and Creamy Caramel) and stamped the "steam" with Creamy Caramel ink. I of course HAD to add liquid applique and heat it up to make "foam".

The scalloped squares were punched out of Stampin' Up! card stock (Creamy Caramel and Ruby Red) using my Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch, and before adhering them to the cards I added a tab of May Arts ribbon (it went PERFECTLY with these cards - I was stoked LOL!) that I folded over and attached with a brown Bazzill brad.

I finished them off with the "thanks a latte" sentiment that comes with the set and they were done!

So Many Sayings How To ------- and BLOG CANDY!!

So I've noticed lately that a LOT of people are posting about Stampin' Up!'s Level One set So Many Sayings - I had mentioned here and there that I cut mine apart to use, and I'm not alone!! EVERYONE is doing it and for a good reason - cutting the stamps apart makes them easier to use!

I also had a few people contact me asking me exactly HOW I had cut them apart and how I was using them. Instead of replying to each individual e-mail (and phone call ---- Hi Julie!! *grin*) I'll post pics here - then stay tuned to the end of this post for some Blog Candy!! YAY!

Um_set_1_2

So here's the set as it comes from SU! (being a Level 1 hostess set it isn't available to buy and won't be in a future catty to buy either - the ONLY way to get it is through hosting a SU workshop or placing a big enough order to earn it for free.) It's a set of 3 stamps and each stamp has a BUNCH of individual sentiments on it - the idea being that you ink up the sentiment you want with a marker and use a stamp-a-ma-jig or something to line up the stamp to get it where you want. Well that's just too much work for me!! So this is what I did:

Um_set_2

I pulled the rubber right off the foam backing - you just peel up from one of the corners and pull. a bit of the foam will stay behind as it's adhered pretty good - but what's left on the rubber is thin enough that I don't worry about it and just leave it on there.

Um_set_3

After pulling off all the rubber (and discarding the foam and paper backing - FYI I NEVER keep rubber scraps - I used to - and had a HUGE container full of them. And they just sat there - like what am I going to do with a pile of foam and rubber scraps??? If it's the idea that you use the foam for dimensionals no thanks - it's too much work peeling everything apart and then having to adhere it and then it doesn't stick that well anyway ------ I am MUCH happier just buying a pack of dimensionals and using them thanks!! LOL) - ANYWAY sorry for the sidetrack!! - I use EZ Mount at this step. EZ Mount is foam backing for stamps with one side being sticky for the rubber to adhere to - and the other side being "clingy" as it clings to acrylic blocks.

Um_set_4

I peeled off the paper backing to the EZ Mount, stick on the stamps then cut them out (you can see the tutorial I did on using unmounted rubber stamps HERE <----click!!).

Um_set_5

Now THIS I was proud of LOL! I know a lot of people haven't ever used unmounted stamps before, and don't have acrylic blocks on hand (whereas I have a BUNCH of them!!). THIS block I got in the dollar bin at Michaels - (or $1.50 section in Canada) - and it's PERFECT for these stamps! So you CAN get a block JUST for these stamps since it's so cheap.

Um_set_6

Um_set_7

The stamp just clings right to it - so you can ink it up, stamp it, clean it, then peel it off and put it away - and that was another issue. After cutting the set apart I didn't want to put it back in the case as they were so small and the case was so big they would get all jumbled up and make it harder to find the one I wanted (and the whole point of this was to make them EASIER to use!!). So I went and grabbed a clear plastic CD case and put them in THAT:

Um_set_8

The entire set AND the block (it's in the bottom right of the case) fit perfectly in the case - and I put the stickers on the top and the coordinating stamps directly under to make it a snap to find the one I need!

So now instead of having a set of 3 stamps mounted on wood that I'd never use - I now have a set of *34* unmounted stamps WITH a block in a CD case that I use all the time!! *grin*

So I hope this helps out everyone that was wondering how I chopped up my stamps!

Now where does the blog candy come in you ask? (admit it you were thinking about it!! *wink*) Well here's where:

Leave a comment on THIS post and I'll choose a random winner (gotta love random.org) and send them a set exactly like this - I got an extra one recently and it's all on EZ Mount, cut apart and in it's case with the acrylic block (just like this last picture) waiting to be sent out!

I'll choose a winner Thursday night (August 30)! Good Luck!!

CONGRATS TO DANIELLE PASS!!! She'll be getting this set as soon as I get her mailing address!!

EDITED TO ADD: (need to answer a few questions!!)

CD Cases - the ones I get have the black formed insert in them that holds the CD - I just take the lid off, pop out the insert, then put the lid back on and they're good to go!! When buying the cases make sure you get the regular ones as the slim ones will NOT work - they're too thin! I actually ordered a TON of them (like 100 I think??) from a supplier months and months ago (sorry I don't remember who it was as I got a new computer and no longer have the info!) so I'm set for life!

EZ Mount - you can get it at several different places. I've gotten it from All That Scraps (they now carry it in 3 sheet sizes - here, here, and here - it's black instead of grey but it's the same thing), and Stamping Bella - both ship to Canada (Stamping Bella is IN Canada and ships internationally, ATS is in the US but ships things up here as well as internationally). There are tons more places that carry it but these are the 2 I shop from most often and highly recommend them - just tell them AmyR sent you!!

Someone asked why I didn't just use cling vinyl instead of the EZmount (the idea being you just pull off the paper backing on the sticky side of the foam and slap on the vinyl and then trim). I didn't do that b/c #1 - I don't have any vinyl on hand whereas I always try to have at least a full sheet of EZmount, and #2 - I've only used stamps that have that type of backing once before and I don't really like it. I prefer the EZmount b/c it seems to cling better to the blocks. However if I were contemplating going completely unmounted with all my stamps and had a bunch of ones sitting with the sticky foam then I'd prolly consider using cling vinyl to save time!!

Do I unmount all my stamps like this?? ---- no I don't. I LOVE my wood and rubber stamps and prolly always will - but at times (like this!) having them unmounted is better OR that's the way they come. I'm a hybrid stamper really - I like them all - unmounted, wood & rubber, clear - whatever! If it's a stamp I'm gonna love and use it!! *grin*

What do I do with the blocks? Right now they're sitting in a drawer as I'm saving them. They are the perfect size for some of my Bella stamps as I've been toying with the idea of mounting them - but as I have quite a few of them I'm going to need a LOT more blocks! So that idea is still on the back burner and the blocks are in a drawer...........
