Well let's see if I can get some posts up on a regular schedule for a few days eh? I got busy with dreaded yardwork over the weekend (we made a *small* dint in the work needed - so frustrating - but at least I'm *doing* something - b/c I really hate yardwork LOL!), then it started raining yesterday and still is today. So I should be able to get *some* stamping done :o)
If you missed the first two cards in the series you can see them here:
For today's card I wanted to use my MFT Sheltering Tree and Leaf Trio dies and decided to keep the rest of the card super clean and simple to focus on the tree:
To see how I made this card check out the video below:
*sorry folks this was supposed to go live earlier but I had some issues with uploading and had to head to work before I could get everything posted!*
So - in case you missed the memo I started the Father's Day Card Series yesterday (I know some people rely on their YouTube homepage and subscriptions to notify them of new videos but YT can be finicky and more often than not misses a lot of new content!).
It's hard to get back into doing another series - but once I get going the ideas usually start flowing ;) And I need this one to get going quickly b/c Father's Day is less than a month away!
So on to card #1:
To see how I made this card check out the following video:
The star and arrow punches were from Stampin' Up! (discontinued - sorry!)
Spellbinders Die - discontinued (I think it was part of the "Labels" pack? Sorry I don't have the name of it and I can't even find them on the site anymore :()
As an afterthought I added some shimmer to his mushroom "hat" by drawing lines on it with my Copic Red Spica pen. It adds a "shimmer" when the light hits it without being crazy glittery like it would have been had I used Stickles. I love my Spica's - I always forget to use them though :P
Anywho I popped little Shroom up on dimensionals, used my Martha Stewart Grass Edger Punch on one of the green patterned papers, then added some Stampin' Up! red gingham ribbon (which I guess is retired? I've had mine for ages).
The tops of the mushrooms I paper-pieced with one of the brown patterned papers then colored in the rest of them with Copics.
On the inside of the card I kept things pretty simple. I lined it with one of the patterned papers, added another strip of the green patterned paper I edged with the grass edger punch, then stamped another sentiment from the Be Happy set and that was it!
SUPPLIES:
Martha Stewart Grass Edger Punch (I got mine from Michaels)
Well folks this is the last of the 2012 Valentine Series. I had more ideas but I'll have to save 'em for next years series - Valentine's Day is next week and after 14 cards and videos me thinks it's time to finally call it. Plus leaving it at 14 makes my OCD happy *wink*.
As always I do have other plans up my sleeves for more series - there's birthdays, sympathy, thank you, masculine, Easter, Mother's Day, baby, etc etc etc ETC. Basically it's just a matter of me finding the time to get it all done :) But I'll think of something.
Also stay tuned b/c I will *shockingly* have a post (or more) with cards that *don't* have videos to go along with them. I love doing videos and find it's easier to verbally explain and show y'all what I've done but sometimes I like to just sit down and create without a camera blocking my way and a bunch of editing to do afterwards :)
Anywho - back to today's card - something completely different from all the other ones.
If you missed any of the previous Valentine posts you can find them all here:
Stampin' Up! Detail White Embossing Powder (I guess they don't sell the detail powders anymore but really any white embossing powder will do as long as it isn't a "chunky" powder)
Embossing Buddy - mine was from Stampin' Up! (I've had it for YEARS) but they're all the same - I couldn't find it on the SU site but I did find an Inkadinkado one on Simon Says Stamp's website that's the same.
Well I'm on a roll folks. Three videos in three days!! (and FYI if you are subscribed to my channel on YouTube you may not have been getting my latest videos in your subscription - things have been wonky over there the past few days - no one knows what's going on).
I used the Basic Grey Pyrus collection for the patterned paper, the buttons and the bit of ribbon doilies behind the sentiment.
And I added a bit of jute twine as well :o)
The sentiment is from my new Fence Sentiments set. I stamped the 'Hello' onto one of the more nautral patterned papers and colored it in with Copics.
All the grass was done freehand with a couple of green markers (super simple just flick it upwards and vary the pressure between strokes).
The 'just saying' is also from the Fence Sentiments set - I stamped it onto a blue cardstock then punched it out with a small oval punch.
I lined the inside with patterned papers and used the same whitish/neutral paper from the pack for the part with the written message for the recipient.

Hello everyone! Was your weekend as much of a scorcher as ours was here? With the humidity (a rare thing for us living in the middle of the Canadian prairies!) the temps got to feeling like +40C - which is CRAZY.
I had no motivation to do anything when it got that hot LOL.
Anywho tho I got some filming and editing done and have a quick card-making video to share with y'all:
As usual I'm way behind - I should have had grad cards made up weeks ago (where we live grad's at the end of June - so next week!) but I totally forgot so I've been making them up these past few days to sell locally.
Here's 3 I made with a Masculine theme - the stamp set I used was created by Kim Hughes for Cornish Heritage Farms (they went out of business - you can see the haul video I did HERE when I bought up a bunch of the KH sets on sale!) called Congrats Grad.
FYI in case you didn't know all the Kim Hughes CHF sets are no longer available BUT Kim owns the rights to them so maybe in the future she'll re-release them through her Paper Smooches company (she has mentioned that it was a possibility)- or possibly tweak them and release something completely new. Who knows - the gal has talent and I LOVE her stamps!
ANYWHO - here's the cards!

All the patterned paper and brads I used are from the Basic Grey Wander Collection (thought it was rather fitting for grad cards...).
All the ink I used was Memento Inks - I am REALLY liking those inks. I use the black for everything but I really like the colors I got too.
I embellished them with Baker'sTwine and Stampin' Up! Arrow and Star punches.
That's it for now - I hope y'all are having a great week so far!
CC Designs April Release stamps will be available Sunday April 3, 2011 at 9pm CST at the All That Scraps site.
Today I've got Briar the Imp and Sonata - one of the soon-to-be-released Sweet November images that I inked up for this card:
I ended up doing a couple of things I haven't done in a LONG time - airbrushing and using my sewing machine LOL!
To start off with I stamped Briar onto white cardstock, colored him in with Copics then cut him out with one of my Labels 4 dies.
I stamped Briar onto some Eclipse masking tape and cut him out to place over the colored image to mask it so that I could airbrush some clouds in the "background".
To make the clouds I diecut a cloud from the MFT cloud trio dies then simply held it in place while I airbrushed the color (BG72) around it - moving it around to each spot to get the effect you see here.
And yes I got it all over my finger (and the rest of my hand actually) - so I recommend wearing disposable gloves when doing this. It cleans right off with rubbing alcohol so I don't bother wearing gloves.
The sentiment is from my It's Your Birthday set. I stamped it onto the patterned paper then stitched it to the cardfront with my little sewing machine. I ended up not liking how it looked as you could hardly see the white thread so I went over it with one of my brown Copics - a little messy but I was ok with that.
On the inside of the card I used more patterned papers and die cut another Labels 4from white cardstock. I stamped Sonata onto that and colored him in with Copics.
The sentiment I used on the inside is from my Best Birthday Wishes set - I did the same thing with that as I did on the card front.
And that's it! If you're still reading this after such a long post then be sure to head on over to the ATS blog to check out what the Design Team did with this stamp as well as all the other Sweet November stamps that are being peeked for this release!
My hubby's boss's wife had a baby boy the other day - and when Tim told me I knew I had to make them a baby card. I had a few baby cards on hand but when I have the time I really enjoy making a card specifically for someone - it's so much fun to give it a more personal touch YKWIM?
My first thoughts for the card was the standard blues etc - but then I REALLY started thinking and decided to step right out of that box and do something different.
Tim works at the local Chev/GM etc dealership (so if you're in Saskatchewan or even Alberta and need a new/used vehicle you can just look up Rosetown Mainline Motors and ask for Tim - he's a fab salesman - there's my good wife deed of the day LOL. **Side story - Tim was actually "spotted" at the local Dairy Queen this past summer by someone who reads my blog and recognized him from one of the fishing videos I linked to or something - he got a kick out of being identified as "AmyR's husband" ROFLOL! So yeah if you really are in the market for a vehicle and you DO contact Mainline and talk to him tell him you heard AmyR's hubby was a great salesman to deal with *wink*).
Anywho I knew I had the perfect collection to use for this cardso I pulled out my Basic Grey Wander collection that I haven't had the chance to use yet - and this was the end result:
I used my The Best stamp set and stamped the word baby onto one of the patterned papers and cut it out. I just used a craft knife to cut out the insides of the 3 letters. I then stamped the boy (also from The Best stamp set) on an agle below it.
I used my Labels 2 dies with kraft cardstock which is what I adhered the letters to, and then used the same die to cut pieces from another patterned paper that I adhered to the top and bottom of the kraft piece.
I decided to use a BUNCH of brads from the collection - I chose one of the stitched brads, some of the glazed and several of the regular and added them.
I couldn't resist adding the satin ribbon - the color matched PERFECTLY to this BG collection.
AND since it's a question I've been asked a lot I did a quick video showing how I conceal the backs of embellishments so that you can't see them from the inside of the card:
Finally on the inside of the card I basically just used the same layout I used on the front and just mixed up the patterned papers I used (and that scalloped piece with all the signs on it is one of the Wander ribbon doilies) and die cut another Label 2 from kraft cardstock and that was it!
I hope Tim's boss liked it - I thought the papers were rather fitting for a dealership owner ;o). Regardless though it was so FUN to make a baby card that was in completely UNtraditional colors. If you've never done it I challenge you to try it - and if you DO and post it on your blog/online gallery link to it in the comment section of this post so I can see it too!
Sorry I meant to post this earlier but I was at work all day and didn't have the time.
Today was the sneak peek post of a couple images by a new designer at ATS - the Cuddle Crew lines has 2 new images that will be available with the October release.
I made this card with one of them - meet "Free Wheelin' Wally:
I wasn't in a mood to do a whole bunch of coloring when I made this so instead I stamped the image onto CCD Sand cardstock and embossed it with white detail embossing powder.
I used some of my warm grey Copics to add a bit of shadow and definition to the image then cut it out with the largest of the circle nestabilities dies.
All of the patterned paper and the large stitched brad are from the Basic Grey Oliver collection that I picked up at my LSS not too long ago (I filmed a quick haul video showing it but haven't had a chance to edit and upload it yet).
The sentiments are from my Big Words and Handy Additions sentiments sets. I embossed the 'happy' with the white detail EP then stamped the Birthday over it and punched it out with my SU! Key Tag punch.
Finally on the inside of the card I just lined it with more patterned paper and added a strip of the Oliver Ribbon Doilies that I had also bought when I bought the paper.
Be sure to check out the sneak peek on the ATS blog HERE <----click! to see the other samples the DT has made with these stamps.
*****Post #3 THREE today!! I for once (in a VERY long time!!) am on quite the roll today!! So be sure to SCROLL down - there's a video below this and another post with another fabby (IMO) card below that*****
SO - today was a Review Preview day over on the ATSblog - we (the design team) made up some cards with the CCD Take a Seat Kit which is limited edition and will only be available until the 20th of this month (September 2010 if you are reading this post later than that).
You can check out that post and all the other fabulous cards by clicking -------> HERE <-------
I pulled out some OLD (I can't even remember when this paper was released - BG is always releasing so many different lines it's hard to keep up/keep track with them all) patterned paper for this card.
It's from the Archaic line by Basic Grey - love this stuff - perfect for masculine/boy-themed cards!
I paper pieced the chair and rug with the patterned papers before adhering them to the background I created with more papers from the line.
I stamped the Sitting Trevor image from the kit onto CCD lightweight copic quality cardstock (memento ink) then colored him in with Copics.
I paper pieced his shirt with one of the Archaic patterned papers - too fun.
I pulled out some buttons and jute from my stash to embellish the card, and used the largest of my spellbinders scalloped rectangle nestability to frame the main image. I adhered Trevor with dimensionals after cutting him out.
I lined the inside of the card with another of the patterned paper, die cut a scalloped rectangle from white cardstock and adhered that then paper pieced another chair from the same pattern I used on the front and adhered that as well.
I hope y'all enjoyed this and don't forget to check out all my previous posts today!!
A couple of days ago my younger sister had her baby - a little boy they named Wesson who weighed in at 7lbs 3oz - he's just a tiny little thing!
I went to see her yesterday and got to cuddle the little guy for a bit - man you forget how tiny your kids were!!
And of course I had to make her a card and had a couple little gifties for him as well:
I picked up these little blue sandals and the socks a couple of months ago - they're SO small (this is an A2 card - 5.5" x 4.25" to give you an idea!) so I had to buy them.
The 'sweet, small & wonderful', 'baby', and 'boy' are all separate stamps. I inked them up with white pigment ink and stamped them onto kraft cardstock. I embossed them with white detail embossing powder (I chose detail because it's finer and the smaller words wouldn't come out as clear if I had used regular embossing powder).
I colored in the 'baby' letters with Copics using B01, B02, B04 and W3. You can check out my post HERE where I did a video showing how I faded the colors the same way I did on these.
I pulled out several buttons from my stash and sewed them onto the cardfront.
On the inside of the card I used one of the sentiments from my Baby Sentiments set - I stamped it onto kraft cardstock with white pigment ink and embossed it with the detail white EP. I then used the largest of the Labels 11 dies to cut it out and adhered it to the inside and that was it!
