When we're together...

This was the girly/pinky/red card I alluded to in my last post LOL!

I originally intended to keep the Sugarplums Spring Couple image black and white and not do any coloring - but I couldn't NOT color it - it was bugging me...

I used one of my Spellbinders Heart dies to cut out the image then colored them in with Copics. When putting it on the card it seemed a little "lost" so I edged the heart with Orchid Pastel Colorbox chalk ink - that helped finish it off.

The felt heart I cut out with one of my smaller heart dies (I did a video on felt and where I got mine but when I uploaded it to my computer the ENTIRE video is out of focus! And I haven't had the time to re-film it - that plus I hate having to repeat myself all over again - it's a pet peeve of mine. But I'll get to it!) then attached with a heart brad I had in my stash.

The patterned paper is 2 sheets (I used both sides of one of them) by Heidi Swapp. I'm not sure if it's available anymore or not. I bought it at my lss a good couple years ago? I can't even remember when...

The sentiment is from my Love-ly sentiments set - another favorite of mine :o) To finish it off I added a little red heart brad (Making Memories I think - got a pack of them at Michaels years ago) to the end of it.

The ribbon is May Arts crinkle ribbon - loving that stuff!

On the inside of the card I used more patterned paper and my heart dies.

Sorry if the red heart is blurry - I have a REALLY hard time getting a clear shot when red is used! I stamped the 'Forever and Always' sentiment from my All About Love set onto red cardstock then punched it out with my blue Marvy heart punch (the heart shape on the punches are different from my Spellbinders dies so I keep those punches).

Gotta get to work - if you are a fan of my Facebook page you'll know that I FINALLY got my January CCD stamps - already the ideas are rolling for them - can't wait to make stuff!

It's Your Special Day

Woot woot here's another card!!

 This was another card I've had sitting in my files for *cough* WAY too long (LOL).

I used Diane's Special Day stamp set - I think it is such a cute set!

I stamped the bride onto CCD White Cardstock then colored her in with Copic markers.

I used Stardust Stickles and dotted them along the dress and veil, after they were dry I cut the image out with one of my oval nestabilities.

The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Kioshi collection.

The Primas are from my stash and all the brads are DoodleBug. The ribbons are both May Arts.

   On the inside of the card I added more patterned paper, die cut some cardstock with another nestabilitie die (this time a scalloped rectangle) and added a strip of patterned paper that I had stamped one of the sentiments from Special Day.

Eeeek! As I'm typing up this post I have only a few hours left to finish packing and then get to bed as we're leaving for Vegas TOMORROW!

Now that we're getting to crunch time I'm getting excited. I worked like a crazy-person for the past couple of weeks trying to fit everyone in, and now I'm done and get to go on our trip - so exciting!

Anywho - here's the card I made for the latest Friday Sketch:

I used the new Special Day set for this card - I just think it's one of the cutest little wedding sets!

 

I stamped the cake image from the set onto CCD White Cardstock then colored it in with Copic Markers.

To give the icing a little "texture" I basically just dotted all over the yellow areas with my colorless blender.

All the patterned paper and the stitched brad are from the Basic Grey Kioshi collection.

And of course I had to add some bling so I used my Stardust Stickles on the cake and on the Prima flower.

The ribbon is from May Arts.

On the inside of the card I used more patterned paper and a piece of the paper ribbon from the Kioshi Ribbon Doilies pack.

The sentiment is from the Love Sentiments set.

SNEAK PEEK - Cookie Crumbs Special Day

*random FYI - as I'm typing this I can see all the snow coming down out the window. We actually had a blizzard warning issued for today - gross!! It was bad enough having to deal with the snow and storms in APRIL - but it's MAY now!*

Today starts off the sneak peeks for the May All That Scraps stamps release.

Today's sneak peeks are for Diane's Cookie Crumbs line - the set is called Special Day.

This was the first card I made with the set. I had to use the rose image as soon as I saw it!

 

I stamped the rose with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto CCD White Cardstock and colored it in with Copic markers. I used RV32, RV42 and RV14 which are all over the RV shade range - but they are colors that went well with the patterned paper - and I feathered them into each other in order for them to blend seamlessly. I was quite pleased with the end result!

And of course I had to add a little bling via some Stickles :o)

All the patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Kioshi line - I showed all the stuff I got in the ATS haul Video and post HERE <----click!

I used my circle and scalloped circle nestabilities to cut out the rose and to mat the image.

The sentiment (also from the Special Day set) was stamped with SU! Pale Plum ink.

I used more patterned paper on the inside of the card - and some more of the self-adhesive ribbon paper strips - I had FUN with those over the weekend! It's neat stuff! You have to be careful peeling off the paper backing with the lace style like this b/c it's so detailed - but it sure adds a nice touch eh?

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Love Sentiments set - I also stamped that with SU Pale Plum ink.

Here Comes the Bride + VIDEO

OK I finally got the video edited and uploaded for this (yup I did another one!) - so here's my sample for the latest Friday Sketch!:

 

I actually made this card a couple of weeks ago!! I filmed the coloring process to go with it so I've been holding off posting it 'till I got the video edited and uploaded.

I also ended up using the layout for thenewest Friday Sketch! so I have a sample to go with it too!

I stamped the CCD Bride Emma image onto CCD White Cardstock (Memento Ink) - then colored it in with my Copics - video for that is at the end of this post.

I then added dots of Stardust Stickles to her dress and veil to add some shimmer to the image and then die cut it with one of my Labels 4 dies.

The sentiment is from my Spring Sentiments set - it was created to go with the Sugarplums Spring Kids images.

I stamped the 'here comes the bride' sentiment onto pink cardstock then punched it out with one of my SU punches.

The ribbon was from my stash (it was American Crafts ribbon that I bought 3 years ago at a scrapbooking store in I think Canmore, AB when we were there for my brother-in-law's wedding - crazy that I can remember that eh? I love this ribbon though and haven't found anything similar to it so that's prolly why I remember!!) as were the primas and "leaves" which are just green Primas that I adhered under the hydrangea blossoms.

All the patterned paper is from the MME Quite Contrary collection.

I finished off the inside of the card by adding more patterned paper.

I then stamped another sentiment from the Spring Sentiments set onto a scrap of pink cardstock and cut it out with another Labels 4 die and that was it!
