Sneak Peek - Underwater Adventure

**I've been posting at least once a day since the 1st! There's TON to see so if you missed anything just scroll down!**

As I alluded to in yesterday's post - I have another sneak peek for y'all!

This is for the soon-to-be-released Underwater Adventure set (more info here) - this is the set that I designed my Underwater Sentiments to go with and it is seriously the most ADORABLE set EVER!!!!

When I first received the set I had a standing request for a special birthday card. It was for a little girl's birthday and the mom wanted mermaids and girly and all that fun stuff. PLUS she wanted it if possible to be a larger card (like 5x7) so that she could FRAME it for her daughters room!

A task like that is a little daunting when you know what you make is going to be on display like that! But I KNEW this set would be perfect so as soon as it arrived I got to work.

And here's the end result:

Mermaid Card by AmyR

I stamped all the images onto watercolor paper with Palette Hybrid Noir ink and watercolored them with my Peerless Watercolors.

Mermaid Card Closeup 2 by AmyRI made everything SUPER glittery with Stickles.

I cut out pretty much every single image (and multiples of the bubbles and seaweed) then added the stickles and set them all aside to dry.

I added a ton of Yellow Stickles to Emma's hair and used White Opal Liquid Pearls on the pearls in her hair and at her waist.

Mermaid Card Closeup by AmyR

The letters were diecut from cardstock using my CuttleBug Red Tag Sale alpha dies. I then coated all of them in stickles as well.

The fishy paper is from Flair's Hit the Beach line - I die cut that with one of my Spellbinders Petite Oval Dies and matted it with a scalloped oval cut from black cardstock.

I added some rhinestones from my stash and attached all the images with a TON of dimensionals once it was all dry!

I didn't bother taking a picture of the inside of the card as I kept it super simple. Since this was to be framed no one will ever see the inside again.

Sneak Peek and a Sketch Sample

**This is post #2 for today! I've been posting at least once a day since the first so scroll down in case you've missed some!**

The Stickles are finally dry so here's my card!

I made it not only for the latest Friday Sketch! but also for today's ATS Sneak Peek - today we're peeking my other soon-to-be-released set called Underwater Sentiments :o)

If you liked my Beach Sentiments set you're gonna love this one!!

AmyR Stamps Underwater Sentiments Sample Card 1 Closeup by AmyR I'm also peeking ANOTHER soon-to-be-released set that we will talk more about tomorrow (and just wait 'till you see the sample I made for that!!) - that was the inspiration for my Underwater Sentiments set.

AmyR Stamps Underwater Sentiments Sample Card 1 Copics by AmyR I did some masking and coloring with my Copics then as a final touch I added some Diamond Stickles to make it all oh-so-sparkly :o)

The patterned paper is all from Cosmo Cricket's Snorkel line - I used that to inspire the color combo for the rest of the card.

AmyR Stamps Underwater Sentiments Sample Card 1 Inside by AmyR AmyR Stamps Underwater Sentiments Sample Card 1 Inside Closeup by AmyR I lined the inside of the card with more Snorkel patterned paper.

Sneak Peek - Itzie Inkies Chasing Butterflies

ACK!! We're gearing up for another stamp release over at All That Scraps and I have a TON of samples I need to make and post!

Release day is always the first Monday of the month at ATS - so this month it's July 6th.

The ideas have been rolling and I have so many things that I want to make - now it's just a matter of finding the TIME to make everything.

Stay tuned this weekend as there are sneak peeks every day and I plan on having at least one new post every day! We'll see if I'm that consistent *wink*.

So here's the first sneak peek - this is using the new Itzie Inkies Chasing Butterflies set:

II Chasing Butterflies Card by AmyR

II Chasing Butterflies Card Closeup by AmyR

Isn't this kitty adorable??

II Chasing Butterflies Card Copics by AmyR I stamped it onto white cardstock then colored it all in with my Copics.

The background was done by running the cardstock through my Big Shot using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

I then made the grass by cutting up some green cardstock with my paper snips and adhering it in layers.

I attached the kitty image with dimensionals, then added a butterfly that I made using 2 of my Martha Stewart butterfly punches.

II Chasing Butterflies Card Inside by AmyR

On the inside of the card I added more cardstock and made another strip of "grass".

The sentiment that comes in the Chasing Butterflies set was stamped onto white cardstock then cut out with one of my Spellbinders Label Trio dies.

I added another punched butterfly and that was it!!

Get Well Card Sketch Sample

CC Get Well Chicken Card by AmyR

AMYRS4 revised Here's my sample for my latest Friday Sketch! (June 26/09).

I needed to make a Get Well Soon card for a customer so I pulled out my Cookie Crumbs Get Well Critters set and decided to use these October Afternoon Weathervane patterned papers.

CC Get Well Chicken Card Copics by AmyR CC Get Well Chicken Card Closeup by AmyR I stamped the rooster onto a piece of CCD White Cardstock then colored him in with my Copics.

To make the ruffled feathers on his belly I used the Colorless Blender and just drew them on :o)

I also colored and cut out the little bandaid image from the set and adhered them to the card with dimensionals.

The wide red grosgrain is from Stampin' Up!

CC Get Well Chicken Card Inside by AmyR I lined the inside of the card with more patterned paper, stamped one of the sentiments from the Get Well Critters set and added another bandaid and that was it!

Supplies green pink red aqua

STAMPS: Cookie Crumbs Get Well Critters Stamp Set.

Sketch Sample (June 19/09 Friday Sketch!)

CCD Bear Hugs Sketch Sample Thanks Card by AmyR

AMYRS70 Here's my card for the latest Friday Sketch!

I had to use the bear image that I had colored in this video as it was sitting on my desk and I wasn't going to toss it!

I also decided to stick with the October Afternoon Ducks in a Row patterned paper and ribbons I got from My Little Ribbon Shop as they were all still sitting out as well.

CCD Bear Hugs Sketch Sample Thanks Card Closeup by AmyR I also used my Thank You Sentiments as again it was sitting out (yeah call it like you see it - I was being lazy LOL!).

Still I'm pleased with how the card turned out.

I used buttons from my stash in the corner instead of flowers, and punched the white cardstock with my Martha Stewart Lace punch.

CCD Bear Hugs Sketch Sample Thanks Card Inside by AmyR I finished up the inside with more patterned paper and a sentiment from the Thank You Sentiments set and that was it!

Supplies Hello Chica

STAMPS: CC Designs Bear Hugs, AmyR Stamps Thank You Sentiments.

CS: CC Designs White, SU! Black, PT Aqua Mist, October Afternoon Ducks in a Row Patterned Paper.

INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.

ACCESSORIES: Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle, Scalloped Circle and Label Trio Dies, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Buttons, Embroidery Floss, Martha Stewart Scalloped Lace Punch.

Multicolor glitter with rhinestones 1

Lastly here's a pic of my nails. After my last couple of videos I've been getting a lot of comments and questions about them.

They're gel nails (NOT acrylic) and I do them myself - my other job is as a nail tech and I do gel nails, manicures, pedicures and even gel toe nails.

This picture isn't the greatest (if you click on it you can get a pop-up with a bigger image) but these are multicolor glitter tips with silver rhinestones embedded in the gel.

And just a quick FYI bit I DO get a lot of comments and e-mails from people wanting more info on gel nails and what to look for/what to avoid when it comes to checking out a salon and while I don't mind answering them to the best of my knowledge I am really busy so it may be some time before I can answer you! For YOU your best option is to check out your local salon and ask their nail techs the questions as they should be able to answer them and address any concerns you might have.

Beary Thanks 3x3 Note Card Box

CCD Beary Thanks 3x3 Box by AmyR

Whew! I FINALLY got this done! I set out to make this box and the notecards in MAY back when it was posted as the Wednesday DT Challenge.

CCD Beary Thanks 3x3 Box Side View by AmyR I got as far as stamping and coloring the bears from theCCD Bear Hugs stamps and cutting them out and then they sat on my desk 'till today.

Sad I know.

I followed this SCS tutorial to make the box - it was super easy and came together quite quickly.

CCD Beary Thanks 3x3 Box Open by AmyR

I then made half a dozen 3x3 note cards to put in the box.

I went with a Thank You theme so I used my new Thank You Sentiments set on the box top, and the outside and inside of the cards.

CCD Beary Thanks 3x3 Box Cards by AmyR All the patterned paper is from the Ducks in a Row collection by October Afternoon.

I got the paper and ribbon (May Arts) from My Little Ribbon Shop.

CCD Beary Thanks 3x3 Box Single Card by AmyR I used the same layout on each note card - just alternating which side the bear sit/stood on, and attached the bear with dimensionals.

The Martha Stewart scalloped lace punch was used with white cardstock to get the lace edge.

CCD Beary Thanks 3x3 Box Card Inside by AmyR Like I said I used the Thank You Sentiments set on all the cards - the "Just a little note to say..." stamp was PERFECT for these.

Then on the inside I just added a small strip of one of the patterned papers and stamped "Thank You" above it.

Oh Baby!

AMYRTFS2 I had these images already colored and cut out sitting on my desk for over a week now. I quickly whipped up both cards this morning using the latest Friday Sketch.

Scroll past the pics for all the info :o)

CCD Oh Baby Boy Card by AmyR

CCD Oh Baby Boy Card Closeup by AmyR CCD Oh Baby Boy Card Inside by AmyR CCD Oh Baby Girl Card by AmyR

CCD Oh Baby Girl Card Closeup by AmyR CCD Oh Baby Girl Card Inside by AmyR I used the new CCD Gingersnaps Oh Baby! stamps for both cards - stamping the images onto CCD White CS with Memento ink and coloring them in with Copics (sorry I forgot to take pics of the colors I used! Since it was last week I have put them all away).

On the kraft cardstock I did the "grid technique" that is this week's ATS DT challenge - you can check out all the DT samples HERE (and join in the challenge if you'd like!).

Ribbon on both is May Arts. Blue ribbon is from here and pink from here.

Colored cardstock is all Doodlebug Textured CS.

Jumbo brads are all Basic Grey and the circles and scalloped circles were all cut with my nestabilities dies.

Gotta run - super busy day ahead!

Sketch Sample Shaker Card

AMYRS68 I finally got something made for LAST WEEK's sketch (I know I'm horrible!) and it uses Diane's new Get Well Critters stamp set:

CCD CC Caught a Bug Shaker Card by AmyR

CCD CC Caught a Bug Shaker Card Closeup by AmyR

Haha didn't it turn out CUTE??

I had this idea to use the jar stamp in the set and turn it into a shaker card. And once I got going with it it turned out to be pretty easy!

I stamped the jar onto the cardstock with black ink, then made an "X" cut in the middle with a craft knife. I then used my paper snips to trim out the inside of the jar.

I used my silver spica pen to color the top of the jar for a little added sparkle.

THEN I cut a piece of transparency the same size as the cardstock and adhered it to the back of the jar image.

I had narrow foam tape on hand (got a couple rolls of that at the Dollarama for specifically projects like this! *grin*) so I doubled that up and lined it all around the back of the cardstock making sure there were no openings.

CCD CC Caught a Bug Shaker Card Copics by AmyRI stamped the fly image from the set onto a piece of CS (cut slightly smaller than the aqua cardstock so that it wouldn't show around the edges) and colored it with Copics and dotted him with a white gel pen.

Before adhering the fly stamped image to the back of the jar image I added some pastel beads (another Dollarama purchase that I've had for years sitting in my stash) and VOILA!

CCD CC Caught a Bug Shaker Card Inside by AmyR How to finish the inside came to me last night and I love how it turned out.

I stamped the jar on an angle then stamped the sentiment inside it.

I purposely stamped the fly off the edge of the CS, then colored him in and that was it!

Obviously this is a pretty bulky card so not something I would mail unless it was in a box of some sort - but can you just picture giving this to someone that's not feeling well? It would HAVE to cheer them up!!

Supplies

STAMPS: Cookie Crumbs Get Well Critters set.

CS: CCD White, SU! Pink Pirhouette and Basic Black, PTI Aqua Mist.

INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.

ACCESSORIES: Transparency, Beads, Foam Tape, Ribbon, Buttons (Making Memories), Flowers (MM), Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Die, Embroidery floss, Ranger White Gel Pen.

Thanks

My CCD Junebug stamps arrived yesterday so I quickly whipped up a card using them last night while I was chatting at the release party - and then forgot to upload the card LOL.

So here it is:

CCD Junebug Fairy Thanks Card by AmyR

CCD Junebug Fairy Thanks Card Closeup by AmyR Her hair isn't AS bright orange as it appears in the pictures.

I stamped her onto CCD white cardstock then colored her in with my Copics.

I added dots of Lavender stickles to the image, and let it dry this time before doing anything else!

Once I was sure the stickles were dry I masked the image and airbrushed the yellow color around it.

CCD Junebug Fairy Thanks Card Copics by AmyR The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Wisteria collection - as is the large button and the brads.

That huge flower I picked up at my LSS (local scrapbook store) last year - I *think* it's made by Bazzill?? I can't remember and I don't have the packaging for it anymore.

CCD Junebug Fairy Thanks Card Inside by AmyR I used sentiments from my new Thank You Sentiments set on the outside and inside of the card and that was it!

Supplies pink and brown

STAMPS: CC Designs Junebug seet, AmyR Stamps Thank You Sentiments.

CS: CCD White, SU! Basic Black and Pale Plum, Basic Grey Wisteria Patterned Paper.

INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.

ACCESSORIES: Stickles, Flower, Button, Brads, Embroidery Thread.

New Stamps Released TONIGHT!

That's right - all the new stamps will be available at All That Scraps tonight (Monday June 1st) at 10pm EST!

Here's another card I've made:

CCD Swiss Pixies A Friend Card by AmyR

I used the new Swiss Pixies stamp (aren't they ADORABLE?? Check out some more samples using them here <----click!) along with my Friends Sentiments set.

CCD Swiss Pixies A Friend Card Closeup by AmyR Looking at the finished image you wouldn't know what trouble I had.

I messed up SO many times, with the worst being the coloring I did around the image - trust me it looked bad.

I didn't want to toss the image and start over so I decided to mask it off and airbrush a darker color for the sky. It took a fair bit of airbrushing but it worked!! You can't even tell!

I added a bunch of shimmer with some Spica Glitter Pens, and that was fine.

Then I decided to add glitter to the wings with Stickles - again looking good.

CCD Swiss Pixies A Friend Card Copics by AmyR THAT's when I REALLY messed it up! I left the image sitting out to dry in front of my computer keyboard - and later went to reply to an e-mail and like an idiot leaned my arm right over the wing - I had Stickles all over my arm and smeared all over the image :( I was so mad at myself for being so clueless BUT I quickly took the image and wiped off all the stickles with my fingers. And it WORKED! I think b/c it was colored and airbrushed so heavily the stickles were able to absorb into the cardstock too quickly for me to wipe it all off (b/c normally you can still see the glue residue if you get Stickles on paper where you don't want and try to get it off).

ANYWHO this gal had a lot of drama with this card LOL!

CCD Swiss Pixies A Friend Card Flower by AmyR

I used the new Basic Grey Lime Rickey papers, buttons and brads on this card - love the bright summery colors :o)

The velvet flower (I think it's made by Bazzill - I've had a bunch of them in my stash for eons) was originally light blue. I wanted it darker to match the color scheme so I colored it darker with my Copic marker. Worked like a charm!

CCD Swiss Pixies A Friend Card Inside by AmyR On the inside of the card I used more Lime Rickey paper, and some of the smaller scraps from the papers I cut up to use on the front of the card.

I then stamped another sentiment from my Friends Sentiments set and that was it!

Supplies Rainbow

STAMPS: CC Designs Swiss Pixies, AmyR Stamps Friends Sentiments.

CS: CCD White, SU! Brilliant Blue, PTI Lemon Tart, Basic Grey Lime Rickey Patterned Paper.

INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.

ACCESSORIES: Velvet Flower, Button, Brads, Embroidery Floss, Spica Glitter Pens, Diamond Stickles, Spellbinders Square Nestabilities Die, SU! Word Window Punch.

More Beachy Cards!!

First off **FYI the sneak peeks have started on the ATS blog! New sets will be released on Monday June 1st (ACK! I can't believe it's almost JUNE!) - one of which is mine - y'all will see sneak peeks of that in a couple of days! Head on over to the ATS blog to start seeing some creative goodness!**

Second - I had these images sitting here all colored from the Beachies II release and my OCD just wouldn't allow me to work on anything else (well that and the fact that the set being peeked today hasn't arrived in the mail yet darnit!) so I finished these 2 cards using them:

CCD Beachies II Smile and Wave Card by AmyR

CCD Beachies II Smile and Wave Card Closeup by AmyR I don't have pics of the Copics I used as these were colored a couple of weeks ago.

This is the Waving Emma stamp from the Beachies II release.

I added the polka dots with my white gel pen, then added a little rhinestone from my stash to the flower center.

I die cut the aqua cardstock with one of my circle nestabilities dies.

For the sand I die cut the same size circle from SU! Creamy Caramel cardstock, then freehand cut parts from it. I sponged the edges with the same color ink then spritzed on darker brown ink before adhering the "sand" onto the aqua circle.

The "smile" is from my Beach Sentiments set - fit perfectly!

And yes I STILL have Flair Hit the Beach papers left - well bits of papers - I used them on both of these cards (and lined the insides of both cards with the same papers - I didn't bother taking pics of that tho - sorry!) and am thisclose to completely using them up. I've LOVED using these papers - they're 25% off at ATS and I don't know if they've been retired or not - I'm going to miss using them but it's time to move on!

CCD Beachies II Fun in the Sun Card by AmyR

CCD Beachies II Fun in the Sun Card Closeup by AmyR I did a lot of the same stuff on this card using the Sunglasses Emma image.

I used my long oval nesties for the main image and made my faux sand, stamped another sentiment from the Beach Sentiments set, and more Flair Hit the Beach papers.

I added some Prima flowers to this card, and still had a couple of petals left from the big green Prima I cut up the other day so I added them as leaves.

K I gotta run as it's suppertime and I better feed my kids!!

Beachies II

Man what a weekend.

It was a long weekend here for us Canadians with Monday being a holiday. Sunday was FABULOUS - just gorgeous outside so we spent most of the day in the yard with the girls playing, doing yardwork and putting together our mammoth fire pit I had ordered it from a flyer and it was WAY bigger in real life - I had over 60 bricks to unload from the truck - each weighing well over 10lbs each - maybe more - then haul to the area for the pit. Needless to say I was hurting after it was all done!

Then Monday came around - lets just say the girls are all-of-a-sudden obsessed with playing "Christimas" and wanting to be good so that Santa will come. Yeah it was snowing Monday morning. So they watched a Christmas movie inside and I keep overhearing them talk about Santa coming. LOL

This weather sucks!!

Needless to say I haven't done any stamping for days and days - and I NEEDED to make something - so I gave digi stamping a shot and used the new Beachies II images that ATS just released. And thankfully they're being released in rubber too! You can check them all out HERE.

CCD Beachies II Buckets of Love Card Closeup by AmyR

I just opened the file and printed it out onto CC Designs white cardstock - and since my printer pulls paper from a tray it has a hard time with heavyweight cardstocks (the top loading printers would work way better for printing on heavy weight CS) but I was able to get it to work.

CCD Beachies II Buckets of Love Card Inside and Copics by AmyR

I used my Copics to color in the image (I had NO smearing of the printer ink on the CCD cardstock - I use an Epson with Epson ink by the way) then added polka dots and highlights with my white gel pen.

I cut the image out (video tutorial on that here) then attached it to the oval die cuts with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from my Beach Sentiments set.

AMYRS67

I used my latest Friday Sketch! for the layout on this card.

CCD Beachies II Buckets of Love Card by AmyR

The patterned paper is from Flair's Hit the Beach line (still got a few pieces left!), ribbon is May Arts, and the 3 flat back crackle things (sorry my brain stopped and I can't remember what they're called!) are from Stamping Bella (I can't get their site to come up right now to link to them - I'll edit this post later when I can get to the site).

ETA - OK I was able to access the site and they're called Bella Dots (so simple yet my brain just couldn't process! haha) - I didn't see these light blue crackle ones - but there's TONS there in all kinds of styles - glitter, marble, crackle, solid etc - and colors. They're lightweight and totally flat so I use mini glue dots to attach them and they're good to go. FYI I've never tried the "donut" ones that have the hole in the middle (they're like a "faux eyelet") so I don't have an opinion on them!

K I gotta run - I promised my mom I'd help out at the coffee shop for a couple of hours!

Caught a Bug?

FYI all the new stamps are now available at All That Scraps - you can check out the May goodies HERE <----click!

CCD Buggaboo Ladybug Get Well Card by AmyR

I pulled out the new CCD Bugg-A-Boos set for this card, along with Diane's Ladybug Friends set for the sentiments.

All the patterned paper is from KI Memories Bloom Collection - I got it all months ago and of course hoarded it b/c I liked it so much. I don't know why I bother to do that as I am CONSTANTLY finding patterned papers that I LOVE - and after all these years I've amassed quite a collection.

Lately I've been trying to USE the papers I have (and actually use them up but man you can make a TON of cards when you're working with 12x12 sheets!) and actually weeding out papers that are discontinued (only because for me I don't want to post things too often that are no longer available - however if I really LOVE a particular product/stamp/paper/whatever I continue to use it regardless of that) or that I no longer like to sell or give away.

ANYWHO back to the card.

CCD Buggaboo Ladybug Get Well Card Closeup by AmyR I stamped this image onto CCD White cardstock and colored her in with my Copics.

I used my clear glaze pen to make her little ladybug wings shiny, and added some rhinestones to her pigtails.

After that I cut her out (video on detail cutting here) and adhered her with dimensionals to the patterned paper circle.

CCD Buggaboo Ladybug Get Well Card Inside and Copics by AmyR

I added some Primas from my stash (another thing I have TONS of) with mini brads and some May Arts dotted ribbon (one of my all-time favorite types of ribbon).

The sentiment from the Ladybug Friends set was stamped onto a scrap of cardstock then cut out with a nestie die. I did the same thing with another sentiment that I adhered to the inside of the card.

Since the card itself is black I adhered a piece of the green patterned paper to the inside to be able to write on it.
