Hey everyone! Here's my second post for today - be sure to stay tuned to the end as there's some important info there :).
I have 3 cards to share with you guys for the launch of all the new January release products available NOW in the MFT store.
Make sure to check out the MFT blog HERE to see all the new products, and then go here for the links to all the other Design Team members blog posts to see what they made for their New Product Launch posts.
My cards feature the new Mini Delicate Doilies Die-namics - which you can only get for FREE if you spend $60 or more at the MFT store this month.
For my first card I decided to use 3 of the doilies and die cut some of MFT's softer colors of card stock - Grout Grey, Sno Cone, Grapesicle and Bubblegum.
The sentiment is from the Heart Balloons Stamp set and I stamped it with Grout Grey ink onto the matching card stock that I die cut with one of the Dimensional Banners Die-namics.
On the inside of the card I adhered more doilies, and trimmed off the edges of the ones that hung over with scissors after I adhered them.
For my second card I went for a Valentine theme and kept the colors to the classic red, black and white with a touch of the Grout Grey ;).
I die cut the doilies from Sweet Tooth card stock and placed them around the card - I found the easiest way to adhere them was just little dots of liquid adhesive placed here and there does the trick!
On the inside of the card I added a piece of Wild Cherry card stock that I ran through my Big Shot with the Hugs & Kisses Cover-Ups Die-namics, then die cut the Mini Delicate Doilies from Black Licorice card stock and adhered them in place and trimmed off any parts hanging over.
For my third card I took a completely different approach - I die cut all 4 doilies from the set from Eclipse Masking paper. I wasn't sure if it would work but they cut just fine and I just used scissors to peel them from the cutting plate.
I placed all 4 masks onto a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock, then used my Copic airbrush and 4 different colors to airbrush over each doily. The colors I used from right to left were BG75, R56, V28, B99.
When I peeled up the masks it was SO cool - every time I mask and airbrush it's like magic LOL! Some of the masks didn't stay perfectly flat as the cuts were so intricate and the force of air from the airbrush moved them a bit - but I just went with it.
This could definitely be done as a one-layer card but I liked the look of trimming it down a bit and popping it up on dimensionals.
On the inside of the card I used the same masks just placing them along the bottom so as to leave space for writing.
